If anyone is wanting to chill to some good female mellow-indie music, here's my best of list, they'll get you through the Berlin winter. If you like this genre, please add to it.

Sorry, the Flame Trees and Yellow Brick Road covers are by Sarah Blasko, not Tanya Donnelly.
Her cover of Flame Trees is the best cover I've ever heard, it's actually better than the original by Cold Chisel. She also does a sublime cover of Yellow Brick Road. But read Tanya's bio on Wiki.
Back in August time, I had an email from my landlord which says, please call me very urgently.
I was worried as I did think, something is really wrong at my rented flat. (Burglary or something has caught on fire etc) I called him and he asked, do you still live in the flat? I said yes and why? What happened? He told me that, Hauswewaltung firm informed him that, their letter was not received by me as my name was not on the postbox. This is straight forward lie as I have been living in the same place for more than 3 years and never missed to receive any letter. Anyways, I told him I still do live in the flat nothing is wrong and we hung up.
Then I found out that, my rent became 20€ more expensive per month without a notice. Oh wait, the letter which I supposed to get must have been a notice right? This country is designed to rip foreigners off
I've been taken to the cleaners twice by two different non-Palestinians. They even stole the Palestinians land at gunpoint. As Norman Finklestein says, "enough with the holocaust crocodile tears already, you have no right to gain sympathy from the world while doing this to Palestinians". Look him up on YouTube and also Mike Peled - The General's Son.
Are chermans even western europeans ?
I've found most Europeans to be lacking in social graces. The only Europeans I like are Italians and nice Poles, not icy-poles. Italy is the most beautiful country in the world, the people are friendly and very intelligent, you can have great conversations with them. Germany has kept their economy down, but trust me, the Italians will be back on top before long, so will the English.
Look at the great creativity that's come out of the UK. Even their TV ads are brilliant, I could watch noting but TV ads all day and be entertained. Their comedies are the best in the world and copied all over the world, including the USA. Their stage shows are extraordinary. The best music, the who's who of the music indusry, mostly from the UK, I don't class rap or techno as music.
The best are galleries are in London, fantastic museums all over the UK. First-class universities. Exceptional public transport system. Gotta love their supermarkets. Beautiful parks. Vibrant cities full of music.
They are even excelling at food these days, with fusion dishes that break all the rules. Beautiful countryside, seeped in glorious history, the seat of modern-democracy and human rights. Ground-breaking scientific discoveries by the score. In contras, Germans these days are boring and have no imagination whatsoever, especially Berliners. They are the sheep of Europe.
If anyone knows a place that has the best of Italy and the UK combined, please let me know. Amsterdam comes close, but they are way too tight with their pennies.
They expect us (foreigners) to butter Germany all the time.
It is like, they want you to badmouth for your previous life / hometown and praise Germany as your previous life was not existed. They also think that, If a foreigner comes to Germany It is because he / she thinks, Germany is the best which is not true necessarily. They don't understand the concept of being expat or benefiting from the situation (example : affordable university education) They assume, each foreigner wants to settle down in Germany and that's why you hear things like "Integration" or "importance of speaking German"
Germany can be a stepping stone nothing more, If you are educated, cultured person. Germany is only for desperates to settle down
In a bid to modernize the Party, the CDU have today voted for a 55 year old career politician to lead them in to the future. The choice between 3 50+ white lawyers with indistinguishable political leanings must have been very tough. Doomed.

Rules for surviving Berlin.
1 - Don't expect what Berlin seems like when you are on holidays, that it will be the same when you actually live there. On holidays yo are probably meeting mainly other expats, but the reality is very different when you live in Berlin and have to deal with he locals.
2 - Every German you meet will have many emotional problems, but will never admit to having them, to them, the problem will ALWAYS be you.
3 - Never nod or say hello to a stranger. Especially your Berliner neighbours. Very important to pretend they don't exist on the stairwell, just as they'll do to you.
4 - Never say to a German "I like to shop at X because the staff are friendly and helpful, instead of gruff and uninterested at most shops in Berlin". They will reply, without fail, "Oh, that is false friendliness, I prefer the nature of the Berlin schnauzer because it's more honest, why act friendly and helpful if you don't feel like it". This is a Berlin mantra.
5 - Which of course implies that you should never expect customer service from Berliners. "hello, is that chair ergonomically designed?", Berliner "I don't believe in that stuff, if you want to know about the chair, go on the internet, why ask me such a question, I don't make the chairs".
6 - Do not feel awkward when a Berliner stares at you on the U-Bahn, this is what they do, for some strange reason, they love to stare at people, no one knows why, they just love it, even when you look directly at them, they'll still stare for another 10-15 seconds before getting the hint. One way to get them to look away quicker, is to smile at them.
7 - Never smile at someone in Berlin, they will think you are a freak.
8 - Never encourage a Berliner and never expect any encouragement from them. Never expect any praise for something you did that was exceptional. They will only be jealous and find a way to tear you down to their lower than mediocre level.
9 - Never go into any kind of business with a Berliner, full stop, just don't do it, never, ever. Don't come to me with your tears later if you disobey his rule. Employ them and treat them like cattle, this is what they are used to and what they expect.
10 - If you do employ a German, never ask them to feel free to contribute ideas for the business, they will look at you like you are crazy to ask them such a thing.
11 - If you intend to spend Xmas in Berlin, be prepared that you will spend it by yourself, no German will invite you to their Xmas gathering. By the way, they celebrate it on the night of the 24th, not on Xmas Day.
12 - Always expect a Berliner to offer you proof that they are not Nazis like their parents and grand-parents, no, they will go out of their way to prove it to you by lying that they love having Muslim fake-refugees (opportunists) and drug selling Africans in Berlin. They will say "but how else can these poor Africans make a living".
13 - Do not be fooled by cowboy/girl insurance salesmen, they will try to get you to buy the most expensive cover by using scare tactics, instead go to Care-Concept Insurance for expats, very cheap for the first five years.
14 - Be prepared to catch a flu every winter because Berliners have never heard of covering heir mouths when they cough on public transport, "Germs are good for you".
15 - Junk food eating German students saying, "why would I take vitamin pills when I can get the nutrients from food". As they munch into a foul smelling doner or bratwurst full of shit-ridden entrails and chemicals.
16 - If you and a Berliner accidentally bump into each other and you say a knee-jerk "sorry", do not expect them to smile and say sorry or or no problem, too, all you will get is a scowl with eyes that are out to shame you.
After about 1 to 2 years of the honeymoon period, you will be having serious doubts about Berlin/ers, and you will then doubt yourself, "Surely it cant be the while city, it must be me". Trust me and everyone posting here, it really is the whole city and if you stay long enough you will start talking and behaving the same. If you notice this happening, go, straight away, do not hesitate, just go back home to recuperate.
I think Germany is the only country where all stereotypes of natives are true.
There is no individualism and unique characters in this country

Be very careful, these people are the new braun-blouse (brown-shirts), and they will do anything to gaslight you.
Just because you are not paranoid, doesn't mean they're not after aces to your phone, email and all other online presence. You are a fool living in a fool's paradise, you remind me of the idiots who fell for the Nazi promises, Berlin is the perfect place for you.
The price of freedom, is eternal vigilance.
