Visiting another city in Europe, doesn't matter where. Let's just say not some nothing provincial town in the middle of nowhere, but a real world class city that people dream of. Haven't seen a single dude pissing in the street or the bushes. Haven't seen any of those weird dudes who aren't really up to anything at all, just milling about hoping something will happen. No one has shoulder checked me randomly. Saw only one person yelling and acting irrational and she was joking with her husband. Haven't smelled the scent of piss anywhere outside of a public toilet. No piles of poo smeared down the walls of the train station elevators. Asked at the pharmacy for a medicine which they didn't have and they said they were sorry they don't have it and offered suggestions. Walked 2 hours around midnight through the city and people smiled at me when passing, occasionally giving a nod of affirmation. Asked a waiter to take a photo and she didn't complain, but actually took a nice one. Joking with strangers actually works without the other person thinking you're insane. No one made me pay with cash. There's a cultural nightlife here beyond drinking and degenerate, hedonistic clubs (though they exist as well). There are homeless people, but they behave politely and don't threaten you or stink up entire carriages. No crazy dudes playing chicken on the sidewalks with escooters. Well maintained park on every corner, somehow free of vagrants. But most importantly, somehow there exists a human connection between everyone I interact with and myself, genuine wavelength synchronization.
Am I dreaming or could this have been my life had I not moved to Berlin? Nowhere is perfect, but this place feels like I have transcended the hell of Berlin. Maybe I am crazy though, it is late.
I think basically Bucharest and Athens, maybe the gypsy neighborhood in Budapest but that's rapidly gentrifying, are about the only two capital cities in Europe that are as filthy as Berlin, and even then it's only in certain parts of the cities. And goes without saying that the natives in those places are friendlier and more humanlike than the Germans.
If you want to load up on G and get asssfuccked and pisssed on by strangers in a dark room, I guess Berlin's probably the place for you. OP here. Had to take a train today which kinda burst my bubble because people were being truly obnoxious BBBBUUUUTTTT literally every offender was speaking German. Hypochondriac overprotective granny barking orders at grandkids because she's scared of a metro station. Mouth breathing Stefans who understand neither personal space nor deodorant. Some other stupid German, can't even remember but something really idiotic. Why don't all countries just ban German tourists or at least force them to take a "civilised society" integration course to cross the border? There is seriously something deeply flawed with them.
Australia can't ban them, they need cheap labor. When dumb 19 year old german backpackers have spent all their money on drinking and their parents are not willing to wire more cash, then picking fruit is the only way they can barely buy a flight ticket back to home. Australian wages are high and also there are many restrictions for getting 3rd world immigrants for many of the agricultural jobs hence dumb germans are useful. Other people from countries which actually have customer service standards, can work in bars and earn minimum 30 dollars per hour... no one hires germans for that. City seemed particularly squalid this week. One example: Had to go through Alexanderplatz to catch the bus that runs close to the Burgermeister there. Busy touristy area, hundreds of people running about their lives. While waiting for the bus under the S-Bahn bridge a 30ish woman with freshly purchased designer label shopping bags squats down between the bike rentals and relieves herself right onto the pavement. Something about that bridge, almost every time I travel by I see someone pissing but until now always men. Public toilet 50m away btw. Not sure how this isn't the third world.
Other events: group of 6 suka blyet Poles congregating on playground Saturday morning, throwing bottles and being a public nuisance. Another group of homeless poles occupying the shopping cart shack in front of supermarket so no one could get in or out. I was pondering the exact same thing this week. How do people become footballers, tennis players or civil engineers here? Not a day goes by without me having to dodge someone entering or exiting a building or public transport without them looking to see if their path is clear.
I remembered a situation in Hauptbahnhof a few years ago. There were hundreds of high school students crowding the concourse and no space to get through without pushing them out of the way. I can understand hormone driven teenagers having a lack of awareness but there were a number of teachers or "responsible" adults with them. It appears that not a single one of them had a thought along these lines. "We are a large group in Berlin's busiest railway station. Perhaps it would be socially responsible to leave room for other people."

Walking today in Berlin and I noticed how this 'multi-kulti' areas are turning this city into a very backwards rathole...
There are beautiful Altbau houses, plenty of green spaces, quite impressive looking churches and cathedrals (not related to religious practice; they are beautiful constructions to have in a city)...and then, there's this new layer: infestation of kebab shops, barber shops, shisha shops... very poor, tacky, cheap small shops... making Berlin look and feel like a very undeveloped part of the world. The amount of hijabi women in this city is also quite shocking. They don't feel like a minority... This city doesn't feel like a European place anymore... And it's all about assimilating this 'diversity' or you're a pariah... This diversity not only brings very primitive ways of life, but also very primitive ways of cohabitations... making this city very dirty and ugly.
It's spread out even into neighborhoods that used to be nicer. And taking the bus or walking past by the "refugee" camp at Templehof. The Ukrainians--women and children mostly--are nice enough, look poor and hard-working and are in fact probably going off to work somewhere, but then there are all these young able-bodied Muslim skullfuccker looking guys with fancy phones and bling clothing as well. Not a lot of women and children, but I guess they'll import them too eventually. Why with the Muslims is it all young men and the women and children only come later?
