A few days ago I saw a guy dressed in an 80s punk uniform (red plaid pants, ripped up t-shirt, spiky hair, big black boots) walking through Mitte with a speaker blasting "The KKK took my baby away". These people are such conformists. It's not like you can just walk into a store and buy this shit. He had to find some specialty shop and made conscious decision to dress like someone from 40 years ago to show us that he doesn't agree with society. Perfect representation of Berlin.

It's only worse if you're in a big blue city. No crazed rioters and militias patrolling red cities because they still have law and order. If your issue is the economy, Germany's is doing worse and their unemployment scheme is currently worse (no stimulus checks, no umeployment bonuses - just Kurzarbeitergeld (60% of your salary which is coincidentally the same as unemployment here except you actually have to keep working here). If it's because of covid spread then who cares? Death rate is dropping and the number of false positives is starting to be realized. If it's because you're worried the lefty might lose in November then maybe you should return to Berlin.
The main reason Berlin stinks is political. Lefties phuck up everything they touch. They are experts at gas-lighting and rhetoric, but never any substance, never for anything only anti everything. The greatest morons in that city are lefties. Suckers, perverts and dunces.
I hate Berlin because of the angry germans. There are areas where you can’t find lefties but you can still find angry germans. I hate the gov aggressively fining me and coming after so many taxes when if you look at Mitte it’s polished af for the tourists. However they don’t even bother putting money into neukolln like paving the streets because they are racists. I also hate the racism and the far right as well as the far left. But I wouldn’t say I hate far left more than far right they are both equally as bad.
The gov also takes so much money from working people and brainwashed them into thinking the taxes are going into something good. So then tell me why are people making 250,000 a year only paying 3% more tax as those at 50,000? It makes no sense . So yeah this is why I hate Berlin.
I hate this time of year. Days rapidly getting shorter, temperature dropping fast. Worst part is knowing it's gonna continue getting worse for 4 months and then it'll be another 4 months before you can even think about spending more than 15 minutes outside. Sad dark days are gonna suck even more with all this dumb lockdown stuff still in place.
Thanks for reminding me why I left for the winter. I’m in North America and it’s mega capitalism, but I only come here to make money and then go to Berlin for the spring and summers. And I’ve deregisterEd in Berlin. This is the way to do it.

Berlin is actually ok if you get out to the lakes enough and dont spend too much time with berliners. Dont think long long term is an option though.
I actually sort of agree. If you can find a lake that isn't overrun with FKK Germans and can spend a few hours out in the sun alone then it's fine. In summer the climate here is decent and there are some places that are pretty. But I think most places on earth have nice patches of nature that can be enjoyed. Definitely not a longterm place to live here though.
I honestly don't see how Germans could be so dumb as to elect ex-DDR people to high ranking positions (Merkel, Geisel, etc.). It's clear that these people have absolutely no understanding of democratic principles.
I used to think all the anti-nazi laws in Germany were a severe violation of free speech but now I see that it's the only way that Germans are forced to understand that their country has ever done anything bad. Germany should have punished their socialist/communist leaders instead of elevating them to the highest offices in the country.

I have come to understand that Germans can be the biggest liars on earth. German society is set up such that lying and gaslighting are the norm. Germans all have a vague belief that Germany is the best country on earth but they can't explain why. When you confront them with statistics to the contrary they get very angry. And they seem to demand everyone views modern Germany as a quasi utopia so that they can pretend to have processed their nazi past. Germany will one day cause WWIII, of that I am sure.
I'm Turkish and I've never been to Berlin nor Germany till 2017. Having lived here for 3 years now I'm fully convinced that Germany took the worst Turks( ignorant, conservative uneducated) on purpose. Moreover those shite Turks embraced the bad personal traits of Germans like being arrogant and selfish. They are all ultranationalist imbeciles and exploit the welfare money. Also I see more hijabis in some parts of Berlin than my city Antalya. Everything is wrong with Berlin can't wait to escape.

Although I do generally find even the Berlin Turks more pleasant than Germans (My Bäckerei ladies, the Späti owners in my area and most of these hardworking people are very sweet usually. I am grateful for them) I guess here it’s not about them, rather than the Turks who have an identity crisis between being both Turks and Germans. These are are nothing like any person I have met from Turkey. The difference is definitely obvious.
German courts ruled against Geisel so anti-coronavirus demonstrations are allowed to continue. I don't care if you're for or against the people organizing them, but this is great news for freedom in Germany and a clear sign that arbitrary restrictions aren't going to be allowed.
