This Sunday Germany will play its first match in the World Cup so I guess we can all prepare for endless torrents of drunk German boys emboldened with patriotism because Germany can do exactly one thing well: dominate at sport in which more often than not nothing happens.
It's been about 15 months since I left Berlin and the place feels like a bad dream now. I can't remember some of my memories there. I left a very toxic relationship, toxic life and toxic situation in Berlin and now I'm in love with someone amazing, live in a beautiful place and I honestly truly love life. Leaving Berlin was a catalyst for my life to do a total 180. Life still has it's challenges but at least now I am living. Berlin is no place to live... it's a place to go to when you're waiting to die, because you have no life left in you anymore. It's also an evil place, that causes a lot of psychological harm to those who live there. I know this might sound dramatic if you're still living in Berlin, but you will only see it once you leave, how harmful that city is to your soul.

Do all Germans have severe OCD? Seriously watch a German at a beach this summer when you're on vacation. You will recognize them by the fact that they take 15 minutes to unpack two beach towels and change into their beach garb, which they will undoubtedly have to do openly and probably while exposing themselves to small children. Is it just me or do especially Turkish women have a staring problem when it comes to other women? Yesterday I sat in the corridor at the doctor's office and one of them couldn't take her eyes of me while speaking in Turkish to her daughter. It was as if it was the first time she ever saw a Western woman. Another time I mentioned a Turkish woman stare at somebody sitting next to me in the subway. I turned my head to see what she was staring at and there was a young girl sitting, minding her own business (the issue might have been that the young girl was black).
Is it possible that they are hardly ever allowed to leave their house and if on rare occasions they do - they've got a hard time grasping what is happening in the real world?

I had a discussion with a young group of people tonight who were divided between Left and Right, and everything went fine and respectful until this African young twenties know-it-all, with a huge chip on his shoulder, said, "I feel that you are condescending to me, so I'm going to end this conversation now", I replied, "well I feel your racist white generalisations are condescending towards me, but I don't see that as a reason to not communicate with you". Then his asian female Feminist friend generalised that whites are something or other.

Big city life in Berlin, i.e. germany is annoying! But how is life in smaller german citys with about 100k-300k inhabitants?
Cologne people are really friendly and inclusive, make one good friend there and you will get three other good friendships. Hamburg is open and friendly as well, so is Leipzig and Dresden. Don't judge all of Germany by your experience in Berlin. There's a heavy sadness hanging over this city, which is no wonder when you consider the city's history.
Well, I don’t care if the German small towns are boring. I’m leaving Berlin for the south of Germany in a couple of days. For a better job and pay which I couldn’t get here to save my life. I don’t care about making friends but about money. Something I have lacked since I moved to this drugged out pretend city. Yes, Germans all over are still freaking weird but Berliners are...........Anyway, move somewhere smaller the people are nicer and maybe more curious than Berliners but still nicer. I’m leaving soon and you should do research and see what areas fit you better. I don’t expect to see North Germany or Berlin again.
boring is subjective and not a word that describes quality...for example: Living somewhere in the woods might be boring cause there are no bars, but it is healthier cause no air pollution, no sound pollution. Also, you don'T go out every night of the week, do you? so whats the point in living in big city where you spend most of the time being annoyed at the crowd of people, traffic, smell...jsut for this one night out per week? that's stupid.
Hamburg and Leipzig are supposedly not bad. Munich has a mixed reputation. Maybe a bit too conservative, uneventful, and expensive but also much cleaner and orderly and if you are artistic and not conservative, you may have an easier time clicking with similar people whereas Berlin is a bit overwhelmed with that. Hamburg may be a bit in between in the vibe and people.

It's mindboggling to me why someone would spend hours reading and posting political propoganda and conspiracies. Life in berlin is already bad and depressing.
