In connection with an attack by an employee in an Arab fashion shop in Neukölln, the suspects could be identified. The woman is a 28-year-old German policeman, who on 26 August 2017 offended a 40-year-old female employee in the fashion shop in the Sonnenallee. The suspects contributed a Niqap at the time of the crime. Witnesses told the police that a "lightly clad" shop-window puppet exhibited in the shop window was the trigger of the attack. The doll, which is exhibited with leather dessuits and applied plastic handcuffs, is said to have been an offense to their faith in the opinion of the suspects. The police state guard carries out the investigations on suspicion of insult, housebreak and personal injury.

There is this German guy at work who hates me. The only reason seems to be that I hardly talk to him. Do you know why I don't talk to him? Because he's negative and vulgar. He's constantly talks bad behind other people's backs. He's 30+ and the only thing he can talk about is sex and his health regime. The German girls in the office like him because they like the attention he gives them when he wants something from them. He's a narcissist and a spoilt brat. I have never seen such an immature person in my whole life.

Ah yes, the German guys who think that "bitch" means the same thing as "slut". Perpetually incapable of pronouncing the A's in simple words. Always talking about going to the gym after work, even bringing his 15-year old torn and tattered gym bag to work regularly. Exhibiting the speech patterns, cadence and choice of topics of a male who wishes he were a gossipy female. In the winter he probably wears those ugly thick cardigans with the gigantic buttons and ridiculous collar. He probably studied BWL straight after finishing his Abitur and got his first job at 28 when he finished his Diplom, which was financed by his parents. And he's probably extremely worldly having done a 4-month internship in Barcelona where he saw first hand the damage Germany has done to Spain but still attributes their problems to chronic laziness. We all know that guy. He's one of two archetypes for German males and, while a little less common in Berlin than Cologne or Munich, he exists nonetheless.

Did you ever ask yourself why it is that easy to hate Germans? Could it be that there exists since decades a potent and seething thought-form residue, like a dense cloud with such an impressive critical mass that all our individual gripes get attracted to it like iron filings to a huge magnet. Its psychological power and dimensions grow, as each new slave to hate and griping is created. I´m not normally like this, I´m not a hateful person, so why does this place reduce us in this way? Take back your own mind and reposess your senses.
No further excuses, leave while you still can.

I don't know what apologist BS you are suggesting. We hate Germans quite simply because the society is degenerate, unaccountable and completely void of morals. It is completely logically justifiable by evaluating the actions of the majority of people we witness on a day-to-day basis.

You must be testing my loyalty to BH. Apologist..I am not! I tossed this culture in the garbage after being here for years living a lie and pretending I´m OK just to retain my sanity. If you understand the way flower essences heal your thought processes, I can recommend MIMULUS and MEXICAN SHELL FLOWER for smiling on the outside while suffering deeply inside. Also FAWN LILY for a tendency to withdraw, isolate and protect oneself from the world. After you´ve quit this town and preferably this country, its best to use MOUNTAIN WORMWOOD or GOLDEN EARDROPS flower essences for self-pity, holding grudges, nursing memories which are painful and non-productive. You can buy them from Desert Alchemy in Arizona or Pegasus Products in Colorado. A few drops of the good old bach-flower Rescue Remedy would work a treat for those explosive situations in supermarket queues or at the bank - I take it with at all times. If you think I´m barmy just listen.........to what the flower people say...AHH, AHH, AH Ah AAHH AAAAAAHHH!

The best advice I can give you is that you are not alone and you are not imagining it. Don't worry, you're not going crazy, you are just caught up in the reality of a people who are in denial of their past, two world wars, the great depression, a wall going up and the same wall coming down, creating sadness, fear and distrust, especially having lived with the Stasi police for so long and now having t get used to hordes of capitalists invading their communist mentality, which was never as bad as the USA anti-communist propaganda made it out to be, even if capitalism is better in many ways. They are still in culture-shock.

If anything, have pity, empathy and/or compassion for them, they are totally lost, the rest of the country is thriving, whereas in the east of Germany there is huge levels of unemployment, their rent is going up, they're caught in having no say for their future as far in immigration is concerned, they've had 70 years of post WW II guilt shoved down their throats, that's three generations now. They're isolated, lonely and depressed, who wouldn't be after all that. The best way I've found is to give them a smile when they are irritating, even if you don't get it back, keep your own head high with optimism and positivity, and who knows it might be contagious :o))))) But the main thing to remember is that you are not a lunatic, keep in contact daily with your friends and family via Skype etc, even for a few minutes and read your home cities online newspapers, every day.

Lmao at people who think Berlin is some sort of German New York. The very fact that all supermarkets close at 6 p.m. or at the very latest 10 p.m. and none is open on Sundays says a lot about that hellhole.

It's not just the super markets. Unless your under 25 or deeply emotionally stunted then there isn't much to do to occupy your free time (drunken, drug-infused sex dens do not count). The restaurants here generally suck, and traditional German food is an insult to humanity.

The museums are, for the most part, a big joke. Public street parties are even worse (Zug der Liebe makes me want to kill myself). The weather is so terrible that 9 months out of the year you cannot even survive for periods of more than 20 minutes outdoors so forget about that. Plus, if you even wanted to go to a public park then have fun finding a spot to hang out that isn't frequented by guys (and gals) shamelessly pissing in the bushes 5ft away or gays jerking each other off in plain sight.

And then look at the job situation here: either work as a waiter or as a customer service rep or an account manager - no matter how you slice it there are no good positions available and literally zero jobs that require any semblance of creativity.

Literally the only reason anyone comes to Berlin as a tourist is because it's (at least for the time being) relatively affordable compared to other western European cities (can you even consider Berlin a western European city?). The only reason people move to Berlin is because they are lazy, unproductive members of society (students and the unemployed), mentally unstable (80% of the people you see on the subway after 8pm), nazis (venture outside of the ring and no need for further explanation) or just stupid/ignorant (all of us expats who frequent this site because we made the huge mistake of getting stranded in this BS city).

New York is a living city with functioning industries and people actually move there. Berlin is on its last leg and is propped up by the rest of the Germany. The population has stagnated for 70 years and not without reason!

I wouldn't idolize NY too much. There definitely are more professional jobs, but there are far more people trying to get those jobs within NY, across the US, and abroad so it often ends up being the same for many (having to take the lowest paying full time jobs like customer service since 500 well qualified people apply for every position that pays anything decent) until they give up and leave. Berlin tends to attract a lot of artists and laid back people rather than high skilled overachievers, unlike New York. The ones that get the better positions either went to top schools, have really good inside connections (often it requires both), or got very lucky. It looks good from the outside because you only see the lives of those that made it or who have rich parents.

I am German (although an immigrant - not born here), and I have to agree with most of what has been written here. However, I got to say that all those things apply to Germany in general. I would even go so far to say that Berlin is actually BETTER in many respects than other parts of Germany. For instance, I find the service personal here on average friendlier than in the area that I am from. Also, I find that men here are a bit nicer to women than in other parts. As a woman I had experienced open hostile behavior from German men in the past for no reason. Every time I traveled I was always pleasantly surprised how positively men reacted towards me. After coming back from abroad I saw how weak and pathetic most German men actually are.

In general, I would argue that German society is degenerate. There seems to be a focus of trying to cause as much pain as possible to other people just to feel better. If you are a normal, decent person people will try to break you for no reason.

But I think this will change. Germans don't procreate anymore - German men don't seem to like women or children very much. They put most of their energy into beer drinking, watching football and being active in extremist political parties. Let's hope that more immigrants from nicer societies (and with modern values) will come here and change the country for the better.

On some level, I think they know this about themselves, because the young people are always saying how they love having a multi-kulti society, but I'm never sure if that's just because they feel they have to say that because of their Nazi past or because they are sick of their own ultra-conservative closed culture. The latter could be a result of so many Germans traveling these days and seeing people actually chilling out and being friendly instead of suspicious and untrusting, in case your neighbour belongs to the Stasi undercover force.

Little experiment. Next time you're walking the streets because, let's face it, no one in Berlin drives a car because we are all held captive as perpetual children, glance up at the windows to the apartments around you. 90% of the windows won't have shades, blinds, curtains or any other coverings. But what's more telling is the huge percentage of people who light their rooms with single, uncovered lightbulbs. Indeed this is a transient city (or full of absolute poverty - or both).
