Berlin is a great place if you want endlessly distract yourself with empty things. It's basically accepted to be an alcoholic here... drinking at 10 in the morning? Binge drinking every other night? No problem. You don't have a problem. Similar attitudes towards recreational drug use as well. Many people smoke like a chimney. So you have alcohol, drugs & cigarettes as distractions. Next is the fact that you don't need much money to survive in Berlin. You can work very little/not at all, and still survive, and still have money for alcohol, drugs and cigarettes. In fact, ambition and work ethic are looked down upon in Berlin. They see it as a threat to their laziness & lack of motivation in life. Next distraction - endless supply of flaky people to "befriend"... it's hard to make real friends anywhere but in Berlin it's extraordinarily difficult. You can easily have 50-100 casual friends-acquaintances and hardly have 1 real friend. But some people have low standards for friendship and even prefer to not have close friends because they either never had it or they're psychopathic and don't want to get close to people. It's so easy to distract yourself in waves of endless people, but none of these people give a poop about you. Trust me. Another distraction - berlins open relationships / sex / casual dating culture. no one makes an effort. Making an effort is even uncool. so many people stuck in open relationships. So many people are promiscuous and have the mental baggage , commitment issues and STDs to prove it. Last but not least - berlins party scene. There is something goin on pretty much every night, and it's all cheap. You can party half of your week, easily. Entrance fees are rarely more than 12-15 euros and you can take cheap speed while there.

In a nutshell, if you want to drink a lot, take drugs, smoke, be lazy, have no goals, party all the time, have superficial friendships, be non-committed in relationships, then Berlin is your paradise. It truly is a paradise on earth if you are this type of person. In which case your biggest complaint would be rising rents, because that's a threat to your lazy lifestyle.

If you don't want the above things, or think you'd want something else later , or want more, Berlin doesn't have it for you. Berlin has nothing to offer anyone besides this slacker lazy drug alcohol party sex addicted lifestyle.

Oh, I forgot to mention. If you're an artsy fartsy type in addition to being a slacker drinking heavily doing drugs etc , it is even more of a paradise. You can make really horrible art in Berlin and not be laughed at, even take yourself seriously, because all of the art in Berlin is horrible! You never have to look at something beautiful/amazing that someone else made, and think "wow mine sucks".. because nothing beautiful or amazing exists in their "art culture". this is why Berlin has so many smug artsy fartsy wannabe artist types. In other cities they'd have to compete with actually talented people, -and wouldn't feel smug like this, because they'd know they suck. But in Berlin, the goal is the lowest common denominator. This is true from everything from friendships, social interactions to art.

Some of what you describe is an issue in most major western cities. Except instead of being able to relax due to it being cheaper as Berlin is, people may be stressed out from being overworked and barely breaking even, while also juggling very casual friendships and not being able to commit to a relationship with anyone. Smaller cities are generally better for real friendships, relationships, and a balanced life, but the downside is there is less going on to keep you occupied and you'll have a harder time making friends and finding a steady gf/bf when most of the locals have already done all of that by their early to mid 20s.

Maybe the lack of real relationships is because of the man-hating Feminist culture here.
What they need is a dose of these wonderful women to infiltrate Berlin.

all the beautiful people here know this already, but the housing situation here is really absurd. Took me 2 weeks to find a half decent place ( with 2 people doing flat-hunting 24/7), but took me only 20 (twenty) minutes to find tenatns for my old place.
What I find the most idiotic is the furnishing part: all the decent places to rent are given out empty. I have lived in many countries before and I have never seen this. I have plenty of experience with housing abroad and I can partly understanding the reasoning of why it's like this in germany, but the tradeoff money/time is totally not worth it. Maybe if you like building kitchen and DIY, but I got better poop to do with my time.
I totally regret renting such place and learned the hard way.

Also:
I asked few handymen a quote for some housework/moving, and I was given always a price double my gf and my female friend. Considering I can actually be useful during and work and women can't, how does that freaking make sense? I tried thinking of a reason, but the only thing they had in common was that they were all muslims.
One guy straight up asked me if I was a guy through mail and told me he didn't like to work for guys.
Please fcking explain. I hate this city. Every single day, I count on the calendar how much is left to leave germany.

They probably think German women, and non-Muslim women in general, are easy, just be extra nice to them and they'll get laid. I doubt this happens much, but that doesn't stop many of them from doing this crap. Dudes are just obstacles and they have nothing to gain besides extra cash to make up for the discounts they give women. They give them freebies everywhere. Ask your female friends how the cold/rude clerks you're used to treats them, likely they have a completely different impression of them. It's not just an issue in Berlin or Germany though.

But they are. You don't see muslim women with partner counts >10, cheating on their husbands or indulging in disgusting sexual practices, such as open relationships and the like.

The sad thing is that these women are forced into super unskilled part time jobs by the uber-conservative rules of society. Most women never get back into a career after having a child, some only jump from one menial mini-job to the next menial mini-job. Germany is a famous 1 or 1.5 "breadwinner per household" country.
This situation is probably what is causing so much angst and aggression in the women in the workforce - it's not a glass ceiling anymore, it's a heavy iron door.

They really are FemiNarzies, that's the worst part, they go on about glass ceilings and pay-gaps etc because they need an excuse for their lack of self-confidence to go out and make something of their lives. Every second woman is working to help "refugees" (opportunist drug dealers) settle in. If I see one mroe Refugees Welcome sign, I'll scream. Who do they think they are kidding with all this "Oh we're no longer Narzies, look we're really kind to scumbag refugees, coming here under false pretences, because we hate each other so much we are not making enough babies, which has created zero-population-growth and need more cheap workers to create unemployment to keep the wages low".

Germans altruistically helping refugees, what a laugh :o)))))))))

The day before I left was incredible, it was almost like a joke. I had to cancel different contracts, go to places, etc. and everyone with no exception acted super friendly and positive - for example the postman was emptying the post boxes, and he saw me going towards the stamp dispensers and then he offered to WAIT for me to buy stamps so I could catch his shift. Then, some girls at a cafe where i ordered smth to eat and drink SMILED at me from the heart, and some other POLITE encounters with clerks., taxi drivers etc. It's sounds like nothing special, but believe me, for Berlin this is exceptional.

Haha, no. I actually think it was because of the east-west thing. I used to live in the last months before I left in charlottenburg and that's a different story. I mean, it's not okay what's going on there but at least in the west it's much more decent.
