That's the point, not to shut up. If some expats have faced discrimination they MUST speak up. I'm not talking about racism, discrimination and hostility in a particular areas, but when dealing with clerks, neighbours, employers, colleagues etc. Of course not "all Berliners/Germans are assholes" what a stupid, defensive comment.

Everyone in the media keep praising Germany's low unemployment rate, but keep reminding us that the wealth gap is bigger than ever before and socioeconomic mobility rate has slowed down.
In Germany and especially in Berlin, you get lot's of mini jobs that pay so poorly that you would not be able to survive here.
The health insurance here is also not perfect especially when it concerns expats and freelancers. Just because one sees lot's of construction of luxury apartmens in Berlin, it does not mean the economy here is doing so well. Unemployment rate is at the lowest but many younger people including native Germans are still stuck working mini jobs or internships that pay 400-600 euros a month.
Berlin reminds of third world cities where such inequality between the poor and the rich is on display. I can walk 500 meters from Mitte to wedding and see huge differencea in infrastructure and homelessness. This is not what a reasonable and successful city looks like.

This is because a lot of new glossy housing projects in Berlin are for people who don't necessarily work here during the week: they commute (ex:hamburg,..), or it might just be a secondary home, also some apartments could be for rent. Others work and live here, but they work for international companies outside of Berlin. So because of the absence of local companies and industries there is big unemployment and lack of public investements in city infrastructure (some bezirke really look like nothing changed since the fall of the wall - others with a good budget from tourism are of course upgraded, like mitte.)

Berlin has too many poop artists, designers, mixologists, baristas, startup wannabes, curators, fashionistas... for the gov to even consider moving professional jobs to this God forsaken place, they'll need to get real and up skill. Until then, they can enjoy pouring coffee and making lollipop stick sculptures for €400 a month.

He was "Beaten beyond recognition"..German police statement. "The area is known to be frequented by homeless and alcoholics." So you see how this works. You smear the dead with local knowledge.I hardly think a young Jewish man plans to spend a night getting murdered with the local down and outs. In fact this young man was so out of his normal environment its clear he was taken against his will and murdered on this spot. But the German police blame him for the situation hid dead body finds itself in.. Next point..Economic murder:11 may 2016:Lichtenburg Don Exran center burns down. The Berlin police and fire department said they could not find enough hydrants to fight the fire. I bet if the center was a German business enterprise the police, fire and local community would have run to the Spree with buckets to put the flames out.As it stands the only point of Vietnamese culture was wiped out in one afternoons racist shit.So..Its all yours now Germany..Hard afternoons land grab.

Case closed Inspector Rex. Nail polish. Vietnamese and nail polish. Thats how the fire started.(A German would NEVER let this happen).

Germans have a long history of blaming fire on others. Of course the Vietnamese started the fire themselves. In th eyes of the German somehow the Auslander deserves these horrible fates.Still National Socialist to the core.

Yes, this makes me laugh everytime, especially the recent articles in german newspapers that say something like "Angela Merkel: The New Leader of the Free World". I have never seen a more un-free or conformist people than I see here. They have so many regulations, even down to what they can name their children. For these people, freedom means "I'm free to not think for myself, I'm free to never develop as a human person, I'm free from worrying about my job or my health, I'm free to drink beer anytime, I'm free to be rude to other people, ..." etc.

For these people, being free means being free from responsibility. Oh they can go eat curry wurst this weekend and not have to worry about losing their job (it's not easy to terminate an employee here and it can take many months). Theyre free to spend their 20's drinking beer and taking drugs because the State will give them money and training later. Sure, great, total freedom from responsibility.

Except that responsibility is the flip side of power. No responsibility, no power. No power over your life, no power to make decisions, etc.

I just love it when emotional cripples in open relationships try to lecture you about love, honesty, or self-esteem. Hey idiots, outside of your bubble in Berlin, open relationships are generally viewed as a cuck man/promiscuous woman thing, often viewed with disdain. Which may or may not be true, but in Berlin you can expect to have these people lecture at you... like they know better than you. Just another example of people here trying to bring you down on their level. They gave up on ever having a committed relationship, so they settle for odds and ends and want you to do the same.
