My advice is "don't". They will mess with your head so bad it will take you two years to get back to your real self. Same, it's impossible to make friends here without toxic tendencies. All of my friends have been toxic too. They either want to one up. Always take jokes literally and go on a shaming spree. I went for a walk and there was a crossing with me and some ugly German heading towards it from another direction. No problem I thaught, keeping our pace won't make us run into each other as I would have passed before him. Seems as if he didn't like that because after he saw me he kicked the ball of his dog towards me almost making me fall over the dog. WTF is wrong with these people. Either he intentionally wanted to p*ss me off or taking into account the general unawareness of their surroundings he did not see me. Why are these f*cking Germans that way?

I miss being in cities where people actually dress very well every day. Everyone here looks like a bum. I miss it Where everyone looks professional and, ready for the day. I mean I agree with you about everything - and I'd say, if it helps - move to the South West. Plenty of bankers, white collar job residents etc so people dress slightly better. Having said that I don't understand the rant about the backpack. I use one to carry my macbook and papers to read. I don't want to go around looking like a lame butt boomer with a leather briefcase.
I’ve been to Vietnam. Go to Vietnam, people are perfectly lovely and you get a great service. In berlin… Vietnamese are rude and hostile. Go to turkey, people are polite to tourists… had no issue. In berlin… Turks are rude and hostile. Go to Italy, find the people charming and pleasant. In berlin Italians are hostile and arrogant. What is berlin doing to everyone? It’s a vicious circle I suppose. Hostility and a culture of distrust / jealousy is a sickness that seems to reproduce itself like a cancer. I agree with OP, Italians in Italy are wonderful, one of my favourite places in the world, but they definitely change in Berlin. They don't become as bad as Germans, but definitely not the same as in Italy. What a wonderful culture, about to be destroyed by fake refugees.
OP is right though 100%. I am actually very nice and talkative outside of Germany. It's a waste of effort here - Germans are all just basically autists. Here I never smile or try to connect with anyone because with Germans there is nothing to connect to. You can talk about Football or the weather I guess - maybe you could complain about something with them, but inside a German head there is nothing more going on. It's why they pretend to be so angry and in a hurry all the time. They have nothing to say because they are dull and if you have met one German then you have met them all. I used to wonder how Germany could have perpetrated the holocaust but now I understand completely. Emotionless robots, ultra-nationalistic, worshippers of government. OP here: I am not an American. Service isn’t a strictly American concept. Perhaps you have noticed if you’ve ever been outside of your perfect city… abroad not Brandenburg. I said Italians were nice abroad, ie in Italy. Italians in berlin… not always. My behaviour didn’t change between the two. So yeah… it’s berlin to conclude. What's the point in the 49€ ticket? Is it just a politically acceptable way to shovel billions into crappy private businesses? Or a way to get Germans to vacation inside of Germany? Why not just literally burn money in pits? Hopefully it's cancelled after 3 months again because it's ducking dumb.
Yeah, the 29€ ticket is all right, but 49€ isn't worth it to me and I'll go back to only buying a ticket on longer rides. Not interested in paying an extra 20€ a month to be able to ride regional trains to other parts of Germany that are even bigger excrement than Berlin. Why couldn't they keep the 29€ ticket for people who only want transport in the city? I'm sure there is some long dumb explanation that makes perfect sense to German bureaucrats who have lost all common sense with their heads deep in their excrement holes, but I don't actually care. the 29€ was all right while it lasted anyway.
Anyone here with a reddit account with a decent amount of karma, I dare you to go to the Germany or Berlin reddit and ask why Germans consider it shallow and vapid to ask "How are you?" but completely normal when a German asks "Alles klar bei Dir?".

I said to a couple of Germans that I love the way people in shops in Japan are polite, it just makes the day a bit more pleasant, and just robots, they both shot back to say "it's just fake politeness", and I said, well rudeness is fake as well, but Germans seem quite fine with that, especially in Berlin. They both said they prefer it to fake politeness. That's when the honeymoon period stopped for me in Berlin, I was shocked. In my experience, only ten percent of politeness seems to be fake, most people like a win-win situation, but not so for narcissistic sociopaths. It's all quite sad really.
It's the same reason Germans hate smalltalk and see it as superficial even though it serves a vital role. It's like a game with unwritten rules everyone agrees with, which helps to build trust. Same with politeness. It's why having some psychotic German lash out at you for absolitely no reason other than "Berliner Schnauze" feels like such a violation. It's rewriting the rules of society for no reason other than to cause chaos. It is childishness that, in civilized society, is shunned.

Or they can't figure out how to behave in public? Sometimes, they just stop while walking without any reason (not taking any turn) which makes me absolutely annoyed. They also act like they don't see you when they walk towards you. I used to let them pass me but recently I do walk towards them as well and hit them on purpose If they don't make space for me to pass.
I honestly noticed this too. There seem to be some collective autistic behaviour at play in public spaces. Take S-bahn stations for example. Everybody gets off, masses of people, and there's only one stairway to (say) other platforms. Some people are on a rush to get the next trains. Doesn't matter. Masses of undead slobs make their way to the stairs, SLOWLY, taking up the entirety of the width of the stairway. Just way. Just stay on one side with your fellow unemployed zombies. Leave some space for other humans.
I've had this happen in so many scenario's, stairs is usually one of the worst. They just slow down to a crawl and don't move or stop and I kind of bump into them because the stop is so abrupt. Same in supermarkets they will stand right in front of the refrigerated section items for 10 minuts, and no one can get to them. I've had them walking in a group on a sidewalk and they will walk it together taking the whole width of the sidewalk and won't even move when someone is incoming. Inconsiderate folk.

And if there is any kind of bottleneck to the flow of pedestrians on a sidewalk (electricity box, car parked illegally, scooter parked there by a retard) then you can pretty much bet your life savings that a dumbfucked german is gonna be standing there blocking the small area that would still otherwise be free.
