How much people--especially on the Berlin subreddit--are going on about how outrageous and upsetting the fireworks are. Granted, there they largely have the mentalities of elderly semi-autistic conservatives, but also everyone breathlessly comparing to whatever the freaking Purge there and elsewhere. Yes, it's all a bit reckless and over the top, but so what? It's mostly fine in the end. Relax. Go to Brandenberg or somewhere for a couple days with your dog you probably refer to as your "doggo." Don't let your dumb children out onto the streets unsupervised. Other than that, it'll all be ok. Really, it will.

The debate is about why so many german low iq dumbies can terrorize people with cheap and pooping fireworks and why not the failed state of Berlin can't organize a real new year firework spectacle like Sydney or Barcelona. But I guess it's because germans are brain dead

Guys, the Germany subreddits are all one of the main distribution points for state propaganda. State-owned radio talked for a week before NYE this year about how terrible NYE would be and the fire department was allowed to declare a state of emergency based on nothing at all. All of this is just to say that Germany wants to ban fireworks really bad for environmental reasons, they just gotta drum up enough hipster support on reddit and Hausfrau and Harzi support from radio to do it.

I moved away from Berlin at the beginning of the pandemic. I haven't been back since and I didn't regret leaving because it made no sense to spend pandemic here. Immediately the first thing I know this coming back by the way I am only here for a visit( is the infrastructure and the people partying all over the place drinking in the S5 and some guy was vaping next to me. Then there were the junkies in linestrasse. I mean this is all within 30 minutes on the train. I also noticed how how worn down an old everything looks as if they didn't update the Metro in years. I noticed how the pavement looks broken how rain it was how dark the sky was. I already feel the dark energy. It is interesting to be back here but I know at the end of it I will have the option to leave and I wonder how it would feel at the end of it. I haven't really thought about my time in Berlin match Since I've Been Gone but I know that this place will refresh my memory. So far I really do feel like it's extremely foreign and the strange that I chose to live here in the first place. Maybe I would have this update this thread with more observations as the time passes while I'm here. When I found this website I realised I wasn't losing my mind when I lived here and it was one reason why I decided to leave because I realise that many other people felt the same way because the entire culture gaslights you. I definitely feel that this is not a first world country

If you've been unlucky enough to visit Berlin, you know the truth: it freaking sucks. Despite the city's bohemian reputation, Berlin is actually a idiot with little to do and nothing to see. The streets are littered with graffiti and the Berliners themselves are often rude and unhelpful. Sure, the nightlife is (occasionally) alright, but it's nowhere near what it's hyped up to be.

The general quality of life in Berlin is also lacking. Although it's a decent enough city for basic living, it utterly pales in comparison to major metropolises like London and New York City. Public transportation is often overcrowded and architectural icons are few and far between.

Bottom-line: Berlin is depressing, depressing, depressing. Avoid it if you can and save yourself the misery.

I am finally making the move to get out of this shitehole! I am aware that there is a rental crisis almost in every city in Europe, UK etc., but want to ask, whether it is this terrible in UK. Just visited and love Edinburgh, but read that it is also extreme there. How about cities such as Leeds, Liverpool, Bristol, Manchester etc.?
This city sucks the energy out, the moment the plane touches the ground. I don’t want to hear a word of German and will completely erase what I’ve/had to learn about their gibberish language and retarded “culture”

I said, if you buy now, in five to ten years you won't have to rent ever again. Couldn't get through to them, now they complain because the prices have gone sky high, back then you could buy an apartment in P'berg for €38K.
