HEY DO REMEMBER MY POST LAST WEEK?

Do you think it has anything to do with the reason the Irish Embassy is closed?

They haven't announced to the public yet, but there is a growing Covid cluster amongst the staff, and they all agree, ONE PERSON IS TO BLAME for letting the evil in.

The singer songwriter who recently scored a job there....

I don't know nor do I care. Just write the person's name - I'm not going to try to play a pop trivia game. Why would a popular singer songwriter work at an embassy?

And of course the obligatory logic here: Were we ever contact tracing every person who infected others with the seasonal flu? So far, covid19 has killed about 50% the number of people in Germany who die in a typical year of the seasonal flu and that is spread over 1.5 flu seasons. Curiously only 517 people died in Germany of the flu last season.

A lot of people here complain about Peter Pan Syndrome in Berlin and they're completely right. It feels like in most other countries there is a point where adults are expected to stand on their own two feet. In Germany, people are infantilized well into their late 20s. School/Abitur until you're 20, then at least 6 years to get a master's (though when you speak to Germans you'll quickly learn that almost no one graduates without doing 1-2 extra years). People can stay on their parents' health insurance until 26. They get "Kindergeld" until 27. They can be tried as "youths" until they are 25 or more. On the other hand, they still must attend some form of schooling until they are 16 even if they've graduated (yes, it's possible to finish Hauptschule before 16 - such students must attend some kind of training or schooling or else their parents will be fined or lose custody). They can have sex from the age of 13 (can even have sex with someone 20 years older with very few restrictions). Officially according to the German rating system, films can have FSK 0 (suitable for children from 0 years old) for films with entire subplots about giant penises (www.youtube.com/watch) - but until very recently if there was animated blood or swastikas then it was effectively banned from being sold within the country. This is the website of the biggest children's/youth magazine in Germany (www.bravo.de/dr-sommer/die-neue-penis-galerie-175567.html NSFW). This all leads to completely undisciplined Stefans and Claudias that have a malformed view of the world. It's one of the many reasons that these people are intolerable. Getting these people to accept that their upbringing was completely messed up is as difficult as getting a person who beaten as a child to accept that they were physically abused. The word cognitive dissonance is thrown around a lot these days, but that definitely explains Germans.

Weird compulsion to make every statement use a strong verb (like "command") with an unnecessary noun to sound more intelligent than it is. There is (or was) a long article on The Guardian about it from back before they started sucking Germany's sausage all the time. Something like "the substantisation of academia" or something. Went into detail on how Germans love that way of writing because it sounds more authoritative. And don't even get me started on the use of passive voice here to shirk off ANY personal responsibility and their overuse of exclamation points. "Hier wird eine Maske getragen!!!!" Etc.

Perfect description of Berliners

Jobsworth
A jobsworth is a person who uses their job description in a deliberately uncooperative way, or who seemingly delights in acting in an obstructive or unhelpful manner. The term can also be applied to those who uphold petty rules even at the expense of humanity or common sense.

Exactly how I thought these AntiFa lefty scum would be living:

The police have taken almost 60 activists out of the squatted house at Liebigstrasse 34 in Friedrichshain since Friday morning.

Stained mattresses lie around, dishes and bottles are piled up in the kitchen. It smells of rubble and concrete that was used to convert the house on Liebigstrasse into a fortress.

Some rooms are filled with broken mattresses, sleeping bags, and debris. Apparently to make it more difficult for the police to penetrate from the outside through the additional boarded-up windows. Individual walls have been broken through, apartment doors and passageways have been partially closed in other places and reopened by force by the police. The flooring in the house is largely destroyed.

There are still food supplies like rice and beer in the kitchens. The rooms, which can only be recognized as kitchens by dirty dishes and a few foods, were obviously also used as bathrooms. There are around 15 toothbrushes in a container. It was heated with old tiled stoves.

Because they were squatting in someone else's property for a decade and the police did nothing about it until a couple of days ago. And the media wrote idiot articles about it like about how Liebig 34 is a cultural institution in Berlin. All the while the lawless thugs terrorized people living there by setting stuff on fire, throwing rocks, loud music, loosening screws on government workers' cars, throwing paint at people, throwing molotovs at people, etc.
