I don’t know where to start. People are trying so hard to be “alternative” or open minded or non-caring that it in itself becomes pretentious and so darn homogeneous. And that rather than the open mindedness being the ability for people to have space to be or do or think what they want, people mistook it for a race on who can be the weirdest one here, for no other sake or purpose or desire than just being weird. So that for a city that’s supposedly so diverse, people ended up looking the exact same kind of trashed as the next person, same style, same 2 cm bangs, same “trying to look so homeless I spent 300 euros on a ripped jacket that I had to queue outside the store for, because it’s so different that the rest of the city wanted to get it too”. And same for ideas, hobbies, aspirations, whatever. So that everyone is sooo into underground techno, MDMA, good ol’ occasional bondage, open relationships, attending demos whether they know for which cause or not and whatever else they think sounds alternative, although there’s virtually no alternatives as the remaining 99% of the city are into the exact same thing. And of course, whatever you’re into, awesome, just PLZ FKN BE INTO IT just cuz, and not because you wanna say you are because you think it makes you interesting. I just really miss people actually having an opinion on something or being interested in something and passionate about things intrinsically, and not just for the sake of faking a personality. The exact. same. fucking. personality. as every other forsaken fornicate here. And the exact same kind of miserable, because for some reason everyone here seems to hate their life, hate their job, hate their relationships. And the thing that drives me crazy the most - that they freaking love being miserable too. Dunno if depression has become the new sex fetish that’s in at KitKat at the moment so people get off on it or if being a drained emotionally unstable fornicate makes you seem more edgy so that it’s being romanticized in this dump. Probably Berlin’s philosophers like that instagram guy think it gives them inspiration for their “art” that LITERALLY makes no sense, like the one “let’s fight for capitalism without capital” quote so that his equally senseless fans can sit and think “uhhh, that’s so deep” THOUGH CAPITAL LITERALLY IS ALL THERE IS TO CAPITALISM.

I recently got acquainted with an African-American guy at a chess tournament. After all this time here it was good to talk to someone with a heart and a mind. I heard some stories about his time here and they weren't great, especially the ones about the racism he had experienced. Sad stuff really.

An African American, (PC way of saying, black guy), told me that he doesn't catch buses because all the bus drivers are racist towards him, I siad, no, they are like that with everyne but he wanted to keep playing the vctim card. The leftists have brainwashed the black community into believing that playing victim will get them what they want, but all it does is make them feel helpless. Candace Owen is the antidote, she will bring black people up to feeling equal with anyone, why, because in reality, they are equal, but they will never be accepted if they keep playing the victim game.

Dear fellow sufferers,

I first came across this site four months ago and I'm wishing I had read it much earlier. It might have saved me some money, time and plenty of anguish and emotional hardship. It's been almost a month since I made it out of here. I should thank the creators of this site for giving us all a place to vent and share our experiences. Some of the comments on these pages, particularly the earlier pages, are GOLD. They should be recommended (or compulsory) reading for anyone considering setting up base here. I can relate to just about everything that is raised in the commentary ie.

-The blatant racism experienced by those who commented on here.
-The dogshit in the streets. Huawei even made an advertisement poking fun at this issue.
-The unnecessarily complicated and arbitrary ways in which things are done here.
-The seemingly cold and unfriendly atmosphere.
-The unbelievable acts of pettiness that I have both witnessed and experienced (I could go on about this).
-The lack of real creativity and willingness to think creatively and outside the square (if you are an original or independent thinker you may have some trouble here).
-Backward mentality.
-The thinking that these people know it all and their readiness to impart this 'special' knowledge to the rest of us.
-The subtle and not-so-subtle dislike of foreigners.
-Fake, broke (and broken) artists who think they're Albrecht Durer.
-The sheer expense of living here (bullshit taxes, pension fund contribution of 200 Euro/month like wtf etc.) I'd hate to try and set up a business here. I probably wouldn't anyway given how things are here.

I've spent a bit of time in other places like Hamburg, Nuremberg, Cologne etc. and although things are a bit nicer there, those places still have many of the issues that one finds here. Sh###ing on other countries and people does not come to me naturally but such was my experience here and hence the need to unload. I am now back in my old stomping ground in Northern Australia, working at my old job. It's not my dream job and it ain't perfect here (there are many problems) but my time in Berlin and in Eastern Germany has made me appreciate the things that I had taken for granted before leaving Australia.

Ausralians are world champion virtue-signalling SJW's. Australian 'men' give me the creeps.

I genuinely wish to never heard another word of German spoken in my life. And I hope to erase all the memories I have of living in this horrible city. Somehow I think the nightmares will linger though.

Reminds me of how the German press portrayed Marco W. when he was held in a Turkish prison for sexual assault on a 13 year old girl. Or how they portrayed Raoul from Switzerland when he was arrested in the US for molesting his sister. As long as you're German (or close enough) you simply cannot be a criminal. What an absolute joke of a country.

Something weird has happened to me several times here that I can't understand. On at least three occasions (maybe more that I can't remember) I have run into former colleagues in public and I'll say hello or wave to them and they'll just completely ignore me. They will look at me but without even any kind of twinkle of recognition. I know it's a little much to assume that everyone I have ever worked with will remember me, but these are people I dealt with on a nearly daily basis. I also am very easy to remember because I look quite different from the average German. I cannot imagine having someone I know say hello to me and just completely ignoring them. I can't really even imagine doing that to a stranger without feeling extremely uncomfortable. Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah and the person looked afraid. I think some people feel pressured to interact and then they avoid because of that, instead of picturing the normal life thing about it. They only saw the wolves from their dreams, not the sun. Or they were not in a spontaneous moment. But probably something like a relieving feel by avoiding. They probably rationalize it like no longer part of my life. But it is surely no bad ignoring with an intention to set somebody off. It's so weird

I think they stop caring once you are no longer a possible benefit to them. Yes this also happens at German universities. People talk to you and want sth from you when you are in their group in a course but when the semester is over you are dead to them.
Germans are always looking to get ahead and they dont care if they trample over others to get there. Its an everyone for themselves mentality. They have no consideration for others feelings. They are competitive and cold hearted to the core.
