There is some really weird guy working in one of these stores where I live, that sell all the "junk". It took me a while to figure this guy out but he always does the opposite while appearing all playful or maybe he thinks he is playful. When you buy cigarettes and not add "pack" he would always "conclude" it's tabacco. One time I came in there with a pizza, carrying it, looking for some icecream and he f.ucking asks me "Should I hold your pizza? :)" all seeming playful. But it's just sick. I figured I actually made sure it looks like I can manage because he always talks something and that's why he said it. Now I ignored him but back then it felt like I was bluffing (or maybe just withholding what not belong there in the first place). He seemed confused about it or afraid. Other time he comes from the backroom with a tea "Nonono that's mine" :)" Always confusing the heck out of everyone. Another time I want to buy a pen. I ask: Do you have any penS? His reply: You mean for writing something now? Now I did play him back by going with it (not fighting the feel of confusion: Noo..not for now...No, sorry we don't have..Oh, too bad ( I really wanted some) then: not even a pencil? ..No, sorry (He had to act hard there at this point, seemed bit sweaty)) but realized that only later. You know, it disconnects you cause you feel he lies but can slip. Everybody always seems to be really getting along with him and yet something just off about it. Overall I noticed that with quite a few turks. It's just not sane normal interactions. And somehow he seems harmless but only when you get his quirks, maybe wants to connect to others but it can this set you off when you don't notice it. I mean it is just sick but to him it might be playful. Effectively this is serious gaslighting.

I mean I don't think it is good to play him back. I think the normal feel is: Could you just stop that?! Feels more angry cause it's irritating. And if something feels irritating chances are it's him and it's not about overplaying or withholding it because that not goes in line with how it feels. Would be interesting if anyone made similar experiences. You know it sounds like nothing much at first sight but not so. Even though I can see a child could tell in 1 second that the guy lies and it's just plain obvious. And if he is lost I guess the best thing for him is the way you feel while everybody else from what I can tell is reinforcing his stuff. I mean he really is a clerk fatale, he is walking on crutches and seems so innocent and your first instinct is, you feel for the guy and think he is doing good things. It really shows how lost people in this city are. Meet that guy before work, there goes your day potentially, slightly confused, then something else, something at work. You could say it's also a clueless place and especially not true to themselves.

But the real issue is young rich people from any country flocking to every city they hear is cool, but especially NYC/Brooklyn, LA, London, and Paris. Like every person that moves to a major western city, they want to believe they are the most important/coolest (how they dress, act, where the live, what they do), and anyone they don't know is beneath them, but their wealth gives them a lot more power than the poorer people arriving with the same mentality.

OP: Looks like she's in a beer hall in Munich/Bavaria, not Berlin.

I don't think all leftists are radicals but in Berlin it seems all radicals are leftists. If the left is so tolerant then why were all of the AfD election posters around here ripped down within 24 hours? Why is at least one AfD office vandalized pretty much every day of the week? I have never seen a Grüne or Linke poster lying on the ground or covered in paint . To be honest AfD doesn't even seem that far right if you read through their party manifesto and don't just rely on facebook memes. When did these people become so sanctimonious and authoritarian? If AfD's political platform is so outrageous then why can't they simply point the ridiculousness out without gross misrepresentations and outright lies?

I took a couple of friends to Dresden and we arrived on the night they have the weekly march. My friends wanted to talk to them about their concerns and came away saying how articlute and logical they all were, not to mention rational and friendly. When I told them the left hate them, one said some very wise words "yeah, well that makes sense".

Poland is the place to be, no multi-kulti, a pure mono-culture, easy going, friendly and very creative and they want to keep it that way, and I don't blame them. Multi-kulti is a tool by the 0.000001% to keep everyone poor, by shipping cheap labour around the world, to keep everyone's wages down. The Poles are not racist, they love to travel to other cultures, they are repectful to tourists, they just don't want them living permanently in their own backyards.

Some cities in Poland are very nice, underrated, and will hopefully remain that way, but the Polish are too much the opposite. Too religious, too intolerant, too xenophobic (like, if you're Polish, they will treat you like an outsider even if you have the same color of skin), the women are very cold. Czechs are a bit better, neither excessively socially liberal nor excessively xenophobic and intolerant but they are still socially cold and their only real city is like a theme park overflowing with tourists. Every country and city has its own positives and plenty of negatives unfortunately.

I apologise in advance if there are people reading this and are actually struggling to find a job from legit reasons, but I am just wondering...
Am I really lucky as fwck? I am not German, don’t speak the language but it still takes me little time to find jobs here in my actual field. And no, I don’t have special skills or technical abilities. And no, not talking about bar jobs. Jobs that are career centric and pay.
Someone complained about the job market being awful and going to trillion interviews without actually going nowhere. But then again, have their ever wondered that maybe the problem is that the’re not employable?
Some come with crazy request, complain about jobs without having the job yet, and talk about their personal objectives and desires and cool life in Berlin when asked questions. I mean, that’s nice to know about someone, but if you’re too centric on wanting a job that fits exactly unrealistic expectations, you won’t get it. Really. A bad attitude is taking you down no matter how skilled and capable you are. And most of the complainers are too much of this type. Don’t expect jobs if you’re not flexible and willing to meet half way, emit pretentions in your application or bluff yourself.
I literally saw someone for my team that said it was a senior while working alone and I was wondering who he was senior to (in a job he had for a year when he was 20) and that actually has poop loads of experience in our field (he never did the job) and talked about feeling the vibe and energy of people and how that drives him, and speaks up when he feels something is unfair.
Sorry, but you’re probably a pain to work with... Many jobs have transferable skills, good you feel
you can adjust, but you definitely need learning and assimilating time. Many times you need to be actually professional, even though here no one minds if you are a flamboyant flamingo with 1842 piercings and pink hair.
I guess the complainers are just kids with overbluffed selfesteem. And they will remain unemployed...
The job market is really out there. I am struggling to find someone, and I don’t. In this world of unemployment should be easy, but that’s the thing: Most are just not appealing to be employed. They don’t open and adjust to jobs, and it’s funny how they think exactly the opposite about themselves.

Is the job really a career job? Does it pay more than a median German income? I agree that jobs in Berlin are somewhat easy to come by, but only if you are content earning around 2K per month, which after tax is quickly approaching poverty line wages. If you have any aspirations for leading an adult life in Berlin (driving a car, one day owning property, saving for retirement) then good luck with the current job market where you're competing with 8% official unemployment (real unemployment is surely 10% or more).

0 of 3 people agree with this
  Anonymous wrote:

OP here. Yes, the job is career centric, as there’s a special specific to it that, and I do earn more the German median income.
As said before, maybe I am super lucky somehow, or maybe I am just realistic.
I do have to admit: I have the working experience that I count on, but some years back when I started, I would probably accept a job low paid (which I did) so that I can earn the experience.
It is normal. A lot of young people here are inexperienced, job hopping or unrealiable, but expect things...
You have to work for it a bit to reach it.

This city has long lost its heart. Money has ruined it all. But after all, we are all reduced to struggling nobodies who are scared of (any) emotion and relationship. Berlin has absolutely no sense of community, thats why everyone does what he wants, and doesn´t care about consequences. A pity, but also a natural development of a city where the cultural/social tissues of society are so extreme and very difficult to merge. Despite the brunch places in Neukölln and the fancy kekabs in Prenzlauerberg.

Ah, it's not good. I can't really feel myself with that. Moreover I just put that the wrong way so just forget about it. I mean wait :) it reads like a recipe and that's just not at all what I ws trying to get at. It was meant as something when you don't feel yourself because of this freaking roleing bull.shit that happens a lot here. And it is a real dic.khead move to act rejectingly onto someone and often also not make any sense. Some females think of being natural as weak cause Idk why so that was something that came up where I felt I was hindering myself to actually think that because I felt I wud be a jerk for it when it felt quite relieving. I mean mainly I don't like this preaching notion, this is complete nonsense and overall I didn't feel too well when I wrote it and in hindsight I remembered there is other ways, more serious, that just do all that by itself. (Serious, so that the actual fun is possible if you know what I mean.) This was actually about depersonalization and this side-effect roleing. I mean remember, whatever idea people might have about you, it always has to do with their own idea of who they are. And I like to be kind or I naturally am. But whenever I was lost I couldn't be such, so that's the sense I was trying to make there. Lately I just observed strange acts, big deals, unnatural behaviour and I was not in it. It felt good to be natural without being opposing with somebody or critical. I just felt good that I don't struggle with it and I knew by that it's good for the other one too. I mean you gotto see some of the stuff here, Oh wait :)..There is so much tension and performing, and I connected back to this feel of something like "what's the big deal" but it's not critical and it's not really that. It's just when unnatural behaviour reminds you to be just normal and that what else would you do. I mean you can feel the struggle of the person but atst you know you can't reach them but mainly just relieved to not get wired up with them.

Mostly polite and helpful people , very few beggars or crazy alcoholics etc etc etc. Good atmosphere, the city is a quarter the population of Berlin, but the vibe is great, lots of creativity and real art, and the transport is €0.63 for one trip, €1.00 for one hour, €6 for three days, cheaper with a weekly per day. €100 for three months. It's the perfect place for a holiday because rents are cheap as well.

Two weeks of awaiting results for a precious statement like that. My trying to call the practice half a dozen times for an important additional request had failed. Finding and making space for my disappointment, disgust and hate for Berlin feels very cathartic. Thank you to whoever created this site!! What a relief to read that other people feel the same way that I do...

After arriving in Berlin, summer of 2018, it has felt like one of the biggest disappointments of my life. I had great expectations for this open-minded, cultured city that values true artistic expression. However, I found myself very disappointed to experience that it's a pooping city full of dog poop and provincial, cold-as-ice Germans... People don't interact, just thinking of themselves, there's no true caring going on... There was this kid falling of the bike and crying, German mother didn't even turn around and didn't seem to care that her kid was lying on the ground... I helped the little girl and was grabbing her bike, when the mother turned around, looking at me with a nasty facial expression, telling me to "Einfach das Rad wegstellen"! "Yeah - You're welcome!!"

I feel so invisible in this city - transparent. It's this cold, tough Prussian culture of Northern Germany that drives me nuts. Gotta have pride = being a German egotistical asshole!! I have good mornings; I wake up and my mood is good and happy, but it changes as soon as I have to go out in the world and interact (or not interact) with this shitty, cold culture... I'm not the same person I used to be, this city is killing me... need to get out. I've noticed that expats from all over the globe start to behave the same way as these German assholes, since nobody is treated with respect (well, maybe on the very rare occasion someone will smile at you - oh wait - the lady at the ice cream place who smiled at me the other day, she seemed nice. That's because she was Italian, that's why! And I had hope and told my boyfriend that some Germans are nice too - in this city!). I've become one of them, a zombie who doesn't dare to look into people's faces anymore. I look on the ground, so I don't have to interact and that way it also helps with not stepping into dog shit. Thank goodness! Until I leave this place, trying to embrace a somewhat Buddhist approach and trying to see this city and its inhabitants as my biggest teachers... Sorry - not sorry!! Haters gonna hate...and I have become one of them.
