Originally from the US (New York, to be exact). Pros and cons of leaving Berlin:
CONS:
1. Would have to temporarily set up shop with the 'rents while I look for work
2. Would be fit, happy, going to the gym again at 6 am, eating Whole Foods (not this German crap they peddle off as "edible."
3. Would be able to establish a network of friends
4. More opportunities to make money.

- State-sanctioned mono-culture: Never be unsure of how what stance your conversation partner will have on any given topic
- Living amongst mixed social groups: Enjoy living right below a social welfare recipient who screens and throws beer bottles at the walls of his apartment all night while still paying the full market price for your abode

Banning headscarves for public servants in sensible and actually PROMOTES religious freedom (please ignore the crucifixes and religious studies classes in every school in Bavaria). Maintaining a government database on Scientologists also promotes freedom of religion because it's not German.
- Best media in the world: Propaganda tax, ahem, I mean the Rundfunkbeitrag makes German media the envy of the world. It's difficult to walk into any cinema on earth without seeing a slew of German films being shown. From Run, Lola, Run! to Das Boot, the world just cannot get enough of German film engineering from 30 years ago.
- Close access to all of Europe: Germany is the heart of Europe. Enjoy visiting poverty-stricken areas of Europe every weekend so you can stretch your tiny German paycheck and feel like you are actually almost lower middle class somewhere.
- Birth control: Birth control in Germany is so cheap that the population here has been declining for DECADES! And hey, if you forget the take birth control and miss the abortion date because you're so high on every drug conceivable then don't worry. There's always the possibility of the super-late-term abortion; just utilize your Merkel-given right to not vaccinating and inevitably expose your child to the measles epidemic present in every Kindergarten in the country.
Honestly I could list pros to Berlin all day but I think you get the idea. This city is full of opportunities that trump every other country, especially Amerikkka! And, speaking of Trump, he is a big fat jerk! How could you want to live in a country ruled by such a xenophobe (please ignore the fact that the German ruling party the CDU's officials have gone on record saying foreigners should be forced to speak German even within their homes)? How could you live in a country full of people who are in DEBT (please ignore the fact that home/car ownership in America is much higher than in Germany). How could you want to live in a country where public bathrooms are free and ubiquitous? You must be brainwashed because all of the expats from America I have ever met have gone to great lengths to convince me, and themselves, that their lives in Germany are better.
Pros of living in Germany:
I feel safer here because guns are not widely available. I know everything can be turned into a weapon like a car but assault rifles do far more damage.
The idea of crazy people carrying guns freaks me out.
There is efficient public transportation.
Health insurance is affordable compared to the U.S.
Overall, I still prefer the U.S.
Another pro living in Germany:
You don't get easily locked up for non violent offences like drugs. The cops here are not as corrupt and violent as in the States.
In U.S., a cop can stop you, find weed and take away your car. Civil forfeiture is a disgrace.
If you travel with more than 10k dollars, by law police can take your money and never give it back to you.
Here I can call the police knowing that I won't be accidently shot because they thought my cell phone is a gun.
I have not looked the stats of how many Germans die from communicable diseases.
I have all my shots done and maintain personal hygiene.
There are way too many gun deaths in U.S. even accounting for suicides.
I know I am more likely to die in a car crush or cancer. The idea of crazy people with guns is much more fear inducing.
Just look at factors that actually definitely influence quality of life: people, weather, potential income. Germany loses hands down. For people who have no drive, skills or intelligence Germany offers a decent quality of life compared to elsewhere. But if you have any motivation at all it's bad.
A few pages back someone mentioned measles here and it made me worry so I looked at the underlying statistics. It is weird that Germany supposedly has a vaccination rate that's about 4 percentage points higher than the U.S. but still has about 10 times the number of measels infections per year. It must be hygiene. People here always picking their faces, freaking around with their noses, chewing on fingers, not washing hands. Definitely something beyond vaccinations causing this problem.What else could it possibly be?
You are definitely on to something. I also have noticed an increase of public nose picking - especially in Berlin. It is a filthy habit and spreads disease yet people do it and see nothing wrong with this and they will do it right in front of others without any shame - parents used to smack there kids when they did and for a very good reason. I've been vegan for 20 years and never have to go to the doctor, and the reason I am vegan is not a trendy one, it's for the sake of animals who treated so badly in factory farms to bring the price of meat down. Almost 40% of women in committed relationships in Germany are on the pill. That's twice the amount in most other non-continental countries. It only measures three things: average life span, education and earnings. A homogeneous white society means average life spans are longer. It only measures years spent in education, so 10 years of school + 3 year apprenticeship OR 13 years + 5 years of college make it seem like people here are educated. Wages... they suck here. The 50 years of education probably cancel that out. The whole index is a joke metric that Scandinavians and northern euros, the SADDEST PEOPLE ON EARTH, thought up to reward themselves.
Fact is, that the name of Berlin, it's boroughs, surrounding cities and villages are of old slavic origin. Why do not transfer to Poland? If Berlin would be polish, it would be much cleaner and be free of crazy persons.

I like the flair of Warschau and generally Poland. I don't know exactly what it is but it has something my heart can relate to. Not sure as for Berlin being of Slavic origin. It seems to have its own identity and it is always better to have one's own which it doesn't have at all these days.
