I had a horrible experience at Charite hospital. People are rude, disorganized and ignorant maybe because they are overworked and underpaid.
They could not figure out that I had issues with my appendix and kept treating me like I am an entitled girl who is overreacting over a period. After 4 hours of waiting, they could not figure out what's wrong with me and send me out. Next day, I just went to an older Turkish doctor who immediately said that I have appendicitis and can die. He recommended to stay away from Charite and go to a different hospital in the outskirts of Berlin.
I could have died because of some rude berliners who made me feel guilty for wasting their time.
I have also had similar experiences at Berlin hospitals. The nurses are extremely rude and their behavior is honestly borderline abuse and I am saying this without any hint of exaggeration. The problem is that medical degrees in Germany are run pretty much like all other forms of training here. People don't really have to learn much at all, professors are afraid to fail students because of the legal repercussions. You end up with grossly incompetent doctors and nurses. I pray to God I will never need to go to a doctor in Germany for anything that is life threatening.
German doctors have 0 clinical experience btw. I had a friend, again a girl. While we were PhD students, she went to hospital by unbearable stomach pain. Doctors said she got food poisoning. Next day, luckily she had a plane to Istanbul, visiting home. (She is Turk , I'm also) Her family took her to hospital, they immediately operated her to get her appendix out.
Turkish here, despite the shitload of money that’s ripped of by government each month, I go and have my treatments ( when necessary) at Istanbul in one of the private hospitals.There, at least you can have proper treatment by paying it’s worth, This frikking shitehole doesn’t even host any private hospitals, thus you may even die because of these incompetent chimps way of doing business.
My suggestion to everyone: do not trust german doctors, get yourself treated elsewhere.
I had a broken hand, and the doctor shouted at me to turn my hand to the palm of the head so he could do X-rays. I experienced the same terrible treatment at the dentist, or perhaps in a psychologist!!! Berlin is a truly hideous place full of outrageous people!!!!! :(((
