Had the same scenario. Came to Berlin from UK ( I am from Eastern EU) and got into a job that was nightmare in terms of environment, people etc. Got rid of that quickly after I was bullied that I won’t be successful because EE, not good enough, high expectations etc etc. Got my mental strenght full power and in a week I found a 2x paid job in a international environment where I actually feel appreciated and valued for my skills... Berlin is really full of racist idiots thinking they’re better than everyone else. But they’re not at all.

Where are the artists in this artistic city? I swear, all Berliner artists have little to no talent. Someone who studies for years in artschools here has no clue about painting basics or anatomy. Some „artist“ literallly said that uses YouTube tutorials and gets inspired by other artists aka. tries to copy. So much creativity... Oh my! Plus, talent. Non existent... Is Berlin dangerous? When walking around I feel like some parts of the city are dangerous. People on the train often give me dirty looks for no reason. Sometimes youths yell things at me in German that I don't understand and once a guy stood in front of a train station exit and said something to me trying to provoke me. How often do people here get assaulted?
I think it's fairly safe, never had any real problems, most of them are all bark and no bite, if you stand up to them, they shtt their pants and back off like whimpering puppy dogs, just make sure the pathetic cowards are not in a gang. Mostly Turks and Arabs, just ignore them, treat them like they don't exist.
I have been accosted a few times, one time had a Turkish guy with his 15 buddies haul off and blast me in the face because we bumped into one another on the pavement.

Unsuccessful, ugly people with no personalities, but with self esteems hitting the roof. I do appreciate confidence in people, it’s great, confident people are stronger, better, happier, but that’s definitely not the case... I don’t really get why people are not self-aware around here? I had as well a lot of insecurities and doubts that I fail so much at live sooo many times, but I always ended up doing pretty good... it motivates you, it’s normal, it’s part of what pushes you forward and up. Here, everyone is important and valuable and empowered to bathe in their dirt not aiming higher, but taking lots of pride in it. What's going on with romantic relationships in this city? Lots of single mothers, spinsters, repressed chubby men who complain that no woman will ever approach them, old lonely men with drinking problems, people with commitment issues since 'there is always a better option out there', et cetera. I could go on for hours. This city is f***d up.
There are at least three reasons for this:
1. Average mentality in Berlin is still very much stuck in DDR socialism. Socialism = negative selection. In such an environment low IQ people 'prosper', while intelligent few relocate/escape to somewhere else where they can fulfill their potential.
2. Social welfare and lots of unnecessary public sector jobs (80% women): money from productive private sector pockets is transferred (via taxes) to female pockets and jobless bums. Women don't need men to support themselves or to share living costs, they have become 'independent' = employed by 'nanny state'. At the same time, some lazy jobless anarchist bum is not motivated to work after reading Karl Marx and squating in 'free' apartment. He hates capitalism, but he doesn't mind spending free money provided by 'nanny state'.
3. Berlin is transitory city: lots of people come here, but since they are gone in a few weeks/months/years they are not looking for anything serious in the first place.
I know a Berliner couple that is the weirdest pair of breathers ever. Not even humans. Breathers. He is a lazy ass, passive, BUT with a good self esteem, she is a wanderer with no real job or goal for the past 5 years... They met via a dating app and after more than 1 year they are ao frickin’ awkward to be around it makes feel like it’s time to give up on love or ever doubt it exists if that’s how looks like. They are not close to each other as normal people would be in a relationship for that long- always having shallow conversations and acting weird, they almost never do stuff/go outside/get social. They are OK with their partner sleeping in the same bed with a opposite sex “friend”, go on basically dates with exes. They’re rude & disrespectful, make people uncomfortable to be around when they team up... but most likely will get married soon. And people think that’s normal! If that’s OK and I am irrational, no thanks! I express all my feelings, from happiness to anger and jealousy, drama from time to time that the toilet sit is up type of shit...to spice things up...What a NORMAL couple has. If that’s not doable here, then I am happy getting a pet for loneliness & a sexual toy for fun!

I'd say avoid Germany completely. I one has a bit darker skin (don't have to be black necessarily), it's impossible to find a job forget it , an apartment. I hate to say that but I sometimes feel lucky to have a fair skin tone (because of this cr*ppy country). Germany and Germans are very cr*ppy.
