Interesting to see the scummy leftist news articles in the past weeks which celebrate "negative prices" for electricity in Germany due to switching to "green" energy. NYT, Bloomberg, FT have all reported on it. But we all know that residential electricity is more expensive in Germany than any other EU nation. We also know that the negative prices are only for exported, commercial energy. Why are people dumb enough to believe this trash?

Berlin offers nothing recreational unless you like sex dungeons, drugs and cheap beer. The museums here are pretty bad, the food is an insult and the people... no thank you.
Spain > Germany. Better weather, more sunlight, better food, tons of beaches, friendlier people, better looking and nicer women, better looking cities. The only problem is the crap economy but it's slowly getting better. You also have to learn Spanish since fewer people speak English, but at least it's considered easier to learn than German.

Is it me or does it seem really unsafe here? I hear stories from my friends about people getting jumped all the time and when I was younger it happened to me a lot. The police also don’t do anything about it. My friend was jumped by 5 guys just a few days ago and badly beaten
Just read official police reports online. Every single day someone in Wedding is beaten up with a beer bottle, jumped by a group of teens or pushed onto train tracks. This city isn't safe, the police just control the flow of information. Maybe there aren't a lot of murders, but tgere is a lot of violence. Notice they had to build a police station directly at Alexanderplatz now?
Actually, I've lived in Wedding for nearly ten years and there are only very tiny pockets of bad areas there, I feel much safer here than in NeuKoln or Kreuzberg or Friedrichshain, Ive never had the slightest problem in Wedding, and nearly every attack I've heard of from friends have occurred in the "hip" areas. . And the people in Wedding are more real and there's no tourists. In the last two years there are lots of little bars opened up and many students and artists, it feels like Prenzlauerberg in the pre-gentrified days.
Unfortunately it's difficult to have good arguments of - why berlin is not a fortunate place to be- without going into a political debate. However it would be nice to see personal stories instead of ideological rants and conspiracy theories.

Hello, i am from France and i want to tell you a story.
This summer ive been doing a vacation in Warsaw, Katowice and Berlin to see the architecture there.
First i was at Warsaw.
I was stunned when i have seen how the old city was rebuilt after the rundown of communism. But also there are a lot of new tall buildings which are similar to some big cities in the western world. I thought that was beautiful. i also noticed that even that the police is not always there i felt really safe. I also talked with people from there and they were really nice. I did a lot of shopping over there because the zloty was cheap at that time. This city also looks like its supposed to be a capital.
Next i was at Katowice.
This city also has a stunning beautiful old city but its more dominated by the high building from the communist era. There are also a lot of universitys in the city and all with interesting postmodern buildings. I met a lot of nice and respectful students and one even offered me to come home for a vodka. I said no because i wanted to explore the city. And i have to admit; even the poorer boroughs looked really tidy.
Then i was at Berlin.
That was a genuine adventure.
When i came from the south east i already saw that really ugly building of the airport still in construction. Then i went to the Estrel, a pretty good hotel for Berlin. The next day i wanted to explore the city. When i asked a young man for the way to the next subway station he yelled at me "DU SOLLTEST DEUTSCH SPRECHEN!" and left me. Then i decided to walk and i always noticed that communist stickers threatening everybody to obey the government.
Then a group of muslims came on me. I already changed the side of the road but they met another guy. They shouted something like: "What are you doing here WHEN I COME AT YOU AGAIN I CUT YOUR HEAD OFF!!" and the poor guy ran away. Some time later i came near a school and there were some teachers smoking and talking loudly about their pupil's manners and that they feel left alone by the state (i think). I couldn't see the major landmarks because they were to crowded by germans who wanted to see how beautiful their capital is and they were to expensive. After then i wanted to be out as soon as possible. Irritated by this i locked myself in the hotel for the next two days.
My opinion:
Of a scale from 0 to 20 (what is used in french schools),
i give Warsaw a 16,
Katowice a 14,
and Berlin a 6.

-You must be an incredibly small person and have your head locked in place to not be able to look up and see major landmarks no matter how many people gather.

I see no one agrees with me about the Polish being better than Germans, I c=understand that, because many Pols here that stand out, are filthy drunks hanging around spatis and sounding crazy of violent, but they are not your normal Pol. The greater majority of Polish people are wonderful, they're friendly and hospitable, whereas 10% of Germans are welcoming and helpful. The other thing I like about Pols is that they are more humble than Germans.
Anyone who attended school outside of Germany will understand that the following sentences do not contradict each other.

And I for one (as opposed to Wallstrider and his six alternate personalities) believe OP. Berlin is the capital of vice and depravity of the world. There's nothing of value in this city. Just drunks publicly urinating (just 30 minutes ago I was at one of the busiest areas in Berlin and witnessed three guys peeing about 2 meters from large groups of people). I have spent weeks in India in the past and have seen fewer people there pissing in public. German men, literally all of them, seem to have severe mental retardation.
Architecturally Berlin is extremely boring unless you want to see a bunch of old communist brutalist buildings and prefabricated apartment blocks that look like Bratislava twenty years ago. The only halfway decent part of Berlin is Potsdamer Platz but it's so unprofitable that no company wants to own the buildings there for more than a few years. And then you have all of the other parts of Berlin that aren't Alexanderplatz, Zoo or Potsdamer Platz which are all just a giant armpit with nothing to offer.
In summary, Berlin is the ugliest city on earth. Berliners and most Germans are the most unfriendly, inhospitable, mentally retarded people on earth. I would have killed myself a dozen times here already if I wasn't afraid that my remains would be left in this open latrine of a city for all of eternity.
Poland stronk and good, better than German, also very humble, most humble. I know because I'm NOT Polish. Now gib money to build roads to drive on with cars we, I mean they! stole from you while using similar stereotypes about brown people to feel better about ourselves.

If you want to be alone, visit one of the local clubs. Do you like to talk to other people? Everyone creates groups here. If you belong into a social group, you'll always be alone! Because local people are very evil, it's not worth trying to talk to anyone. Finally, you'll find a psychiatrist and not clubs and fun!
