Coming from NY, the fashions here (for the most part), are overpriced or simply vomit-inducing. I was in an H&M the other day, and a fellow "Auslander" started laughing as I had to physically gag from the atrocities I was seeing in the shop. I follow a few German fashion bloggers on Instagram, and while Germany as a whole is not a fashion capital, it seems like Berliners purposely like to pick the most grotesque looking outfits known to man.

I run away from Berlin, but I left my boyfriend there, I suggested that if he moves out from Berlin , I would like to consider to live Germany till his working schedule will finish. I cannot wait him such a hellish city in Berlin 3 more years.

I would suggest Cologne/Koln. I found the people there to be very friendly, hospitable and helpful. Berlin is full of students who have no idea of the real world, YET, boy are they in for a shock. Sexual perverts, drug addicts and alcoholics. Did I mention wanna-be anarchists and mentally ill, men-hating Feminists.
In Cologne, people are more balanced. It has a couple of good areas, ZulpicherStr, near the Uni and AchenerStr. Also the city itself is very vibrant. It can be very beautiful as well, especially by the river and in the forests. The people are chilled and easy to approach. Good luck.
There are two schools of thought prevalent here: people who think Germany would be better if Germans acted less German (people complaining about the unfriendliness, strict rules, robotic mannerisms and the like) and people who think Germans should be MORE German (they complain about antifa, feminism, refugees and the like). If you recognize the cancer of Germanness then you will also hate Cologne (home of Germany's largest urinal), Munich (where you'll work full time to live like a peasant, Leipzig (where there aren't any jobs) and Dresden (full of nazis). Did anybody of the women here experience those hateful stares from German men? This week I was on a business networking event, the amount of women there was around 10%. I was mobbed by a guy until I had to quite my job. He was obese, hateful, and had teeth missing. He throwed me under a bus several times. The owners (horrible as well) of the office exploited him and he hated everyone back in return. I was depressed just by sitting with this guy in the same space, my only thoughts were - how could I get so low ? - This is what happened in a fancy office in Mitte, in a chic courtyard in a design studio, so I am not talking about some uneducated BVG collegue or smth like that, if you know what I mean.
Not all of them. There are many such men in Berlin and other eastren german cities. You did not have the opportunity to meet quality men because of your socioeconomic status and below average appearance. I met lawyers and doctors and they were pretty polished and could flirt. If you work with mostly IT guys with little social skills, you will meet such men in Germany.

Berlin is the city I felt most unsafe in in my life. Creepy MENA men everywhere and antisocial drunks all over the place. Very few “normal” people live in Berlin, and if any normal people come to Berlin at this point, they will leave. I cannot understand why anyone would willingly stay there if they had the choice to leave.

The first post seems fairly accurate. Full disclosure: I used to think the entire (largely suppressed) outrage over refugees was just thinly veiled racism but then I had to work close to a refugee shelter. To begin with, they were housing co-eds but after something like one month they had to remove all of the women because of the daily incidents there. Then in summer groups of the men would sit near the sidewalk and just nonchalantly stare at ALL women walking by. They definitely are not sending their best.
But I still think that 98% of the incidents OP talks about seems rather high. In my daily life I rarely see refugees or any MENA men, but then again I avoid the U8 at all costs and try to stay out of the most miserly areas of Berlin. Speaking of which, it is hard to do that. Again, as OP correctly states, you will rarely encounter sexual harassment or violence in normal areas in the United States. In fact, people in the US actually generally feel a sense of civic duty and will actually take action if they witness violence against women. Unless you go into a run down ghetto or something. And maybe that's the issue: in America undesirables are relegated to bad neighborhoods. And that's why 80% of murders in America occur in just 20% of counties. It's incredible that I recently spent a few weeks in a very big city in America, much larger than Berlin, and in three weeks I saw exactly zero people urinating in public, I was harassed exactly zero times and not once did I see a crazy person yelling at everyone. And no sweaty, drunk jerk tried to start any altercations with me. Because all of these idiots are kept together in public housing, away from anywhere civilized humans should have to deal with them.
Are you a man or a woman? If you are a man you cannot know the degree of sexual harassment that exists in Berlin. It's not outrage, it's a valid concern, which directly affects women every single day, especially if they take any public transportation or if they have to come home late in the evenings. When I was in Berlin, I lived in Prenzlauer Berg and did not have to deal with this so much if I didn't leave PB, but if you want to go farther than a few blocks past Prenzlauer Berg, or if you take any public transportation or go to the city centre for something, you'll deal with it. And it just continues to get worse while people ignore it.
I don't disagree that it's a problem, I just think that Germans are larger contributors than only 2% considering it is impossible to take any train or walk down any street in Berlin at any hour of the day without encountering a German that is extremely drunk or drugged out on something.
OP here - I meant 2% of sexual harassment not overall harassment. In my experience typically Germans don't sexually harass unless they are very drunk and in big groups of men. German drunks or addicts are psychotic and unnerving, but generally they are not responsible for sexual harassment. I did mention that in my original post too. The psychotic, antisocial atmosphere is also very uncomfortable.
