This city is getting worse. It not my perception but objectively getting worse. People are getting creepier, dirtier, more mentally ill and increasingly more ugly (not that they weren’t before.)

Been working from home and encouraged to go back to the office. Having to share the public transport with this society is a reason for this site’s existence. Everything wrong with this place is visible and screaming at you.

The way it’s normal here for people to walk through doors and not check for the person behind you (ie if there is someone there and hold it til they get the door). No Berliners… just let it swing in my face. Every time. Me me me mentality. Ignorant, inconsiderate people. Land of ‚thinkers’ but can’t think of anyone but their miserable selves. Lacks the ability to empathise.

Their thinkers are very few subset of people who themselves left Germany in many cases. These are just the common Hans and Greta. The common trash of Chermny. Their barbaric brain doesn't understand empathy or thinking beyond themselves.

Went to 2 night clubs in the last 2 weeks. Both of them had a minimum spend limit of 30 euros if you wanted to pay by card for drinks. Can anybody - anybody - in this world explain to me the purpose of this? I guess this is supposed to put pressure on people to spend more money at once. Well, guess what, I scraped up my last coins and consumes LESS than I usually would have if I had been allowed to pay by card. In what universe is this a smart business decision?? This is truly a madhouse here.

Usually the excuse I have gotten is due to the transaction fees for products 0.03% (Amex) or 0.02% (Visa MC) fees they have to pay which is utterly ridiculous excuse. Generally 1 cent of fees. Same reason we must pay for toilets or tap water. they stingy AF and, don't know how to enjoy life. They love misery and live together in misery cause misery loves company.

It also comes down to tax evasion which is easier with cash and "lost products", Germans are very good at 1 thing: fraud. They use Bureaucracy also to mask fraud. This is why most German companies are engaged in some form of fraud or the other.

Additionally investing in payment terminals for them is too big a cost of burden. It's not about privacy. There are privacy based solutions for example Monero etc. which they do not support. It's all about cutting costs and squeezing the most they can.

Yep, totally right, they bring forward all these excuses but none of them make sense - people would consume so much more if they had the opportunity to pay by card. They happily sacrifice any additional revenue in order to save on 0.03% fees or investment on payment terminals. The additional revenue would also exceed any of their 'savings' generated by tax evasion.
This is all so ridiculous it would be laughable if it wasn't making life so much harder for the population here.

When you said they use bureaucracy to mask fraud you hit it right on the spot.
I am thinking mostly the Kündigung procedure for everything... which locks you in demonic contracts for years, even though you subscribe technically for one or two years, they automatically trap you for another year and another year... That's fraudulent, illegal and never seen in any civilised or less civilised society.
The TV tax is "voluntary" but you try to voluntary not paying it, and see how Finanzamt locks your accounts...
Even if you have the legal right to get out of a payment, good luck enforcing that... I had clear proof and all paperwork done and I still was made to pay extra because... reasons.
It's insane and that is what trigger me at "little people" level. I am sure there is more the more you go with it...
Thanks for paving the path to my rant.

Germans always give you unsolicited advice without even knowing the conditions of what and why you are doing something. Sometimes the advice is for something so obvious, clearly they think I am too stupid to realize something even a dog could comprehend just highlights how out of touch and frankly dumb they are to think someone wouldn't realize such obvious things. Yet they have no clue why someone is doing what they are doing or what the desired outcome is but have to but in with an opinion that makes themselves look so dumb and autistic.

And when you confront them they either get aggressive, play the victim card... or sometimes even both, to make sure all your energy for the day is sucked out of your body.
Yet, I still do it and look at them in disgust... I can move on, but I know, for them, it leaves a scar for a long time.
Unable to take criticism without needing therapy afterwards.
