You learn their language, you read their newspapers and books, and when you want to talk to them, the Germans refuse to talk to you because you don't have the right dialect. I graduated from the Faculty of Education and I know that for an adult it is almost impossible to change dialect. I've stopped talking to these ignorant people and pretend I don't understand at all. It's horrible to listen to those morons then talk bad about you because they believe you don't know German. So this is their worldliness and open-mindedness? I've never seen anything like it in England, Ireland, Australia or Prague! I'm so disgusted. Luckily I'm going to Spain in March and I can't wait. Seville will be great.
Ironically enough, Germans do tend to have a thick accent when speaking foreign languages (if they ever get to do this).
As you noted, the tactless tendency to look down on someone because of speaking the local language with any sort of foreign accent is something you fail to see in other countries.

Not working - even in s*ith*Le Berlin - is a choice. There are so many things one can easily do (even „simple“ deliveries). We all go through struggles and no money phases in life, but it’s all about what we make most out of it… Without finding loopholes to avoid responsibility and clinging on X or Y to get away easily.
If you have a purpose, maintain a livelihood, the expiring visa should not be a concern… when you contribute even a bit somehow to something, you‘ll not be kicked out.. But if you don‘t know how to survive after, why do you even want the visa anyway?
I am not saying this in a bad spirit. I am grateful for what I had, and if I wouldn’t, I would try to make some ends meet, even if that means doing poop jobs for a while… It’s actually grounding and builds a good character towards being grateful in the end. You learn to appreciate, be understanding of others and less judgmental… If I‘d constantly fail to be on my two feet, I‘d leave and take a leap of faith somewhere else, maybe start fresh at home and accept defeat…

Are people in Berlin so deluded that they think that the person who left is somehow worse off? That they are not “cool” or something anymore? Yeah, not like how cool your life is in Berlin....
I’m not sure what’s worse. Losers pretending to be cool and thinking that makes them cool instead of just being original, or those that put the idea of what others think of them to make them look cool above rationally thinking for themselves. I don’t care about looking cool and there are other cities I can be cool in other than Berlin: Berlin is for chumps and deadbeats.
I shouldn't worry about it, people who live in city centers and don't ever go further than a subway can take them tend to really make their identities about belonging to the city. I've seen it in other cities too. It's probably worse in Berlin because the cultural scene revolves around very young people, moreso than other cities, because they haven't reached the age where they go, "this is shit, time to have better standards"
