LMAO at these answers. Germans are a case study in cognitive dissonance. Literally any other excuse is given in place of "Because Germany is a cheap and squalid shithole".

Praising no lights because you can see the stars LMAO. freaking nerds who live in one of the most densely populated places in the world and still pretending to be close to nature. They all need to put themselves out of their misery.

A government of a country promises to build safe places to take drugs? WTF really? I have no words

Your neighbor that listens to loud, pooping techno all night or drops bowling balls on the floor all day long or just yells right into the radiator every morning at 4am is never going to stop. Not if you ignore them, not if you confront them, not if you call the police or the ordnungsamt or your hausverwaltung or sue them directly. They are never gonna freaking shut the hell up because Berliners are freaking imbeciles and have literally nothing to lose.

Why do they stock up during business hours at supermarkets? This is just insane. I can't shop because I have to dance among containers in order to reach the product I want.

Sometimes, I have no chance to get the product I want because , It is simply being blocked by multiple containers.

I loathe this selfishness in Germany, "Digga Ich mach meine Arbeit was ist das Problem?" People only think / act in their favour without considering other people in this country. Can't wait to get out of here

But dude if they stocked outside of business hours then the average customer might have to pay 5 cent per year more and that would just be economically impossible.

Germany feels like austerity at all levels taken to the extreme. Everything is too small and too crowded. Looking forward to getting outta here as well.

Berliners are drug-addled insomniacs yet they have some vague idea that night shifts are a labor crime. God forbid the grocery stores hire stockists to work after the store closes like they do in any developed country. That would be mean or something. That's also why stores are all closed on Sundays too, right guys? To give the workers a nice break? Totally not to take away distractions from going to church and putting money in the tithe pot...

Grocery store workers have to unload those huge pallets right between 5pm and 8pm, that is the only way. Do you expect an ethnic german kid to work after 8 pm like some Turk in a spati? /s

Oh no all this is true. Just like all the things they told us in the past two years are true.

We only had a two week lockdown last year. And masks never came. The lockdown in November 2020 was really just during November. The politicians always speak the truth, especially when they get paid by the pharma industry.

Why do German politicians even say anything at all if it's all lies anyway? Why the hell would a normal politician say it's legally impossible to force vaccines here only to say the opposite 6 months later? This is damned retarded as hell. And I am saying this as a fully vaccinated person. If this whole every 3-6 months mandatory booster garbage starts, then this is truly mind bogglingly idiotic.

Right this very minute in Chermany you still cannot get a flu shot as a normal < 40 year old healthy person. What a retarded-ass, backwards country.

I WISH the conspiracies about the covid vaccine were true and it would sterilize all Germans.

Thing is the vaccine would sterilize everyone, so no win there.
Germans actually defend their politicians. I had multiple conversations with my ccherman boss about what these retard politicians said and what actually happened later. Her reply was always “Well no thats not what they said, you misunderstood them. And they can never really know anything for sure anyway.” F*cking retards

If this is the kind of "solidarity" you get with "universal healthcare" (I know - Germany actually has what would be better called compulsory healthcare) then I guess I'm just not that interested.

5 years here and I have never seen German parents playing with their children in public. Never seen German parents give their children affection in public. I've never seen a parent kiss their child, or baby-talk to their baby, bounce or swing their baby in their arms, never saw a parent playing tag or catch or hide-and-seek. Never saw parents holding hands of their little children. Never heard a parent singing to their child as they walk. Never saw a toddler who was just so excited to know how to say hello, that he wants to greet everybody he passes.

I think in my childhood I got more play and affection from my parents in one after-dinner stroll than I have seen in 5 years of families in Berlin.

Parents call their children to follow, or buckle them into the strollers and that's about the extent of their interactions. There is a very real coldness here.

I am kinda skeptical without reading the vook myself (which probably is illegal in Germany). Scientific American belongs to a massive German publishing house and German media loves the whole "poor German victims" ans "it was all the nazis" angle.

Dr Spock was also super popular in the 40s and 50s in the U.S. and also advocated for letting babies cry it out, but I highly doubt parents back then would have considered indifference from a baby when its parent leaves the room as positive. I think there's more to the way Germans act - the Prussian history might be closer to the truth. I don't think 15 years of misguided parenting can ruin an entire nation to the degree that is obvious in Germany.

Just my opinion.

Do you think there can be some good from living in Berlin? Even though it was hellish and I am still recovering I don’t regret moving there.... because now I am grateful for my life outside of there. I appreciate my home country and all that trash germans said about it, or made me feel bad about myself, was wrong. I am proud of my origin and I see the beauty in things I didn’t notice before. Plus compared to Germany I feel life is so relaxed here, I am grateful to live in a place where I feel more comfortable and happy
