Until 2020 no peer reviewed study ever was able to prove that masks prevent the flu. There was even a metastudy in 2019 stating very clearly:

"In this review, we did not find evidence to support a protective effect of personal protective measures or environmental measures in reducing influenza transmission. Although these measures have mechanistic support based on our knowledge of how influenza is transmitted from person to person, randomized trials of hand hygiene and face masks have not demonstrated protection against laboratory-confirmed influenza, with 1 exception (18). We identified only 2 RCTs on environmental cleaning and no RCTs on cough etiquette."

They believe it should prevent transmission but it doesn't. That's not science,; it is religion.

This has nothing to do with nationalism. People everywhere seem to have a lot of trust in their own government. Why and how the Germans do is beyond me considering the past 100 years. They are winding down the pandemic now anyway. Spahn says the Notstand will be rescinded next month. International travel is coming back. Soon covid cases will drop to near zero and the flu will return as the number 1 winter killer because a bunch of people have decided that's just the way things need to be.

Sometimes I'll be watching a documentary and see breathtaking pictures of beautiful coastlines, waterfalls, mountains, etc. and be reminded of what a pit Berlin really is. The only "mountains" here are man made from rubble after the war. Even along the Spree everything just looks boring. The only part of Berlin I have seen that is kind of pretty is that Victoria Park, but the Berliners hanging out there even ruin that. No wonder nothing of beauty has ever come from Berlin.

Sometimes I'd like to go on my way back from work, but no, gotta go back home pick up all the empty bottles! On my way to the shop I pray there won't be someone with an industrial sized rubbish bag of pfand bottles already there using the machine.
Then it's such a stress, people here seem to have never used shopping carts before and just leave them anywhere or bump into you. On top of that I have to avoid the employees and these "containers" they leave around blocking the aisles.
If I spend more than 5 secs pondering which product to buy someone's gonna get hysterical, guaranteed.
I finally get to the check out and of course we all know they can't queue, and that the cashiers have to scan the items super quick to keep their job... and of course even after years gotta show them that I'm not hiding anything inside or under the empty shopping bag.
And I don't even go to a discounter and I live in a well-off area in the west

"Are you crazy, do you really believe next year all borders will be shut down on the advice of unelected organisations like WHO, WEF and Bill Gates, and all planes will stop flying and businesses will be destroyed and billions of people will line up to be 'vaccinated' with drugs with no long-term side effect studies, in case they get a seasonal flu that only kills people in their 70's-100's and a few other people with co-morbitities, and people who have taken this drug will turn on and shun people who haven't taken it, in a kind of mass hysteria, an the unvaccinated will not be allowed to fly, shop, attend church or cinemas and concerts or go to school unless they take this untested drug. And what, the media will just go along with all this, but surely there''ll be enough people to point out on the mainstream media how crazy this is, oh, you're saying the media will only show one side of this so-called scam, and you're saying that the year after in 2021 they'll force parents to have their young children 'vaccinated'. And you would be kept in a virtual prison without a vaccine passport. And you really think that all the people are stupid enough to let themselves be gradually brainwashed into accepting these measures because they have been convinced to not follow the orders would be selfish, or unsafe. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW CRAZY YOU SOUND, I SAY THIS AS A FRIEND, YOU NEED PSYCHIATRIC HELP, YOU'VE COMPLETELY LOST THE PLOT, THESE IDEAS ARE TOTALLY INSANE. You're telling me this will happen over a two year period and a hundred thousand ships will be anchored at sea, no planes flying, borders closed and a mass vaccination with an untested drug from a Big Pharma company that no one trusts, and they'll do it all through the Boiling Frog Principle, using small incremental steps and punishments like for those who don't have a Vaccine Passport, and you believe that people will not see this as a manipulation and rise up against it and turn on the people who try to point out how we've all been slowly brainwashed. Two things:

1. How the hell did Germany have to foresight to lay the legal groundwork over the past 6 years to make specific vaccines mandatory and compulsory starting in 03/2020? Until then every nonpopulist German politician repeated the same mantra when confronted with the question: "körperliche Unversehrtheit".

2. Why the hell did Germany start a massive state-funded print campaign in 2015/16 around finding your vaccine passport ("Deutschland sucht den Impfpass")? You literally couldn't walk through Berlin or ride a train without seeing 10 posters.

Weirdest thing is that before 2020 I knew a LOT of Bio-Germans who were totally pro-homeopathy and Naturheilkunde and totally anti-pharmaceuticals. In fact, in 2015 I TRIED to get a flu shot from my GP and was ridiculed for wanting to do so as a normal, healthy adult. Now all these same people are shouting from the rooftops that everyone must be vaccinates. How does one reconcile these polar opposites? It is the SAME people!
