What is the point of working in this country as expat? I have been working for slightly more than 4 years and I still ask the same question to myself everyday.

Payment is like a joke with high tax rates (you should feel lucky If you can save 800€ per month) , office environment is dull as hell, no communication and patronising managers, no remarkable payrise (just keep up with the inflation rate) or promotion to foreigners (even you deserve It 100 times more than your colleague Stefan / Sigrid) I don't even want to mention about social life. Seriously, what is the point?

What keeps you here jobwise? I am here to gain some more experience and certificates before moving to another country

There is no point. I mean the average German works 45 years, saves a small amount (let's say 20k), owns a pooping car, rents forever, has no kids, ends up in a nursing home where no one visits. freaking retarded life, who needs this shit? Enjoy life for 4 or 5 weeks a year when you're on vacation? Once you die literally no one will remember you.

Tbh, 800 EUR/month should be thr minimum you're saving. After 40 years you'll have half a mil. Doesn't have to be in cash, could be in a house or gold or crypto or whatever, but better tham this german hand to mouth, hedonistic mentality. Velocity of money in EU is like 4x higher than in US because people don't save anything here, they spend it all on rent and food and cheap Mallorca vacations. It's not good. No intergenerational transfer of wealth except among the rich. And yet Krauts act like Americans are the fiscally irresponsible because they have on average more debt. No shit, kraut. No one buys a house in cash when interest real rates are negative for a 36 year mortgage. Almost no one anyway, I am sure a german would still do that shit.

I am out of the filthy swamp in Lisbon. A tall blonde person waited for me to pass the staircase to the roof terrace of my hotel. I said “hello” he didn’t! Yesterday in the tiny hallway between our hotel rooms I greeted another tall woman wearing bad glasses and sad footwear. She didn’t reply. All other nationalities of the world utter something when greeted. Yes I know this is a berlin hater not German hater group but some of the berlin hate comes from the German custom, the custom of being rude.

Who needs conspiracies when you have leaked Pfizer lobbying information? I no longer think any of this is a conspiracy per se, it's just corporatism on a new level. Imagine at any other time any other type of company getting hundreds of millions in R&D grants from the government, being given indemnity from all liability and then getting guaranteed contracts with the government for the finished product with no price caps. Pure unadulterated insanity and it is basically worldwide.

Pretty positive the story about German Biontech (founded by Turks) is a lie to assuage German vaccine hesitancy against an American-made vaccine. Hell, most Germans I know for some reason think Pfizer is a German company.

why are germans so obsessed with anti facist people from the 30s? they tend to focus on that time a lot, then; watch movies, read books etc. about the people who fought against it. by doing so they see themselves as anti facist themselves whilst being extremely nosy about their neighbours or basically anyone they come across. of they could they would report those who dare to use the vacuum on a sunday to the gestapo.

Apart from the airport being open now all of the mentioned issues are still existent.

Because these cretins have no concept of personal space, I am using my suitcase at the airport as a buffer to keep the herd back. They are still bumping into it and surrounding it… but at least it’s not my person! That’s the problem when you have a culture of assertion and learnt dominance. The german behind me just asked if I want to move forward. They are so impatient and rude. Being up the backside of the person in front brings absolutely nothing. They really are brainless

OP here- yes I am, to Lisbon. It’s worlds apart here. People are charming, polite not snappy, they don’t look grotesque, no one stares, the buildings are delightful. Yes no where is perfect but after picking up my baggage from the baggage reclaim I just ran away from those berlin creatures. I couldn’t wait to get away from their bad energy and rude presence. I would love to move here ! And for all those lovely Germans telling me to ‘go home/leave’ 1) this concept was dealt with decades earlier and I’m not gonna educate you on it. 2) I might just do that and let you stew in your own juices together

Things I don't miss about Berlin/Germany:
-Middle-aged men wearing earrings
-People who smell like poop obsessing over cleanliness and tidiness
-People who have a poor grasp of English talking to foreigners in said language because foreigners are not smart enough to learn Krautspeak.
-Women sporting nose piercings
-Face tattoos
-People who like Yerba Mate or any derivative
-People who can't clean their nose in a subtle manner
-People who call themselves tolerant and liberal, yet don't have at least one foreign friend
-People who call out religious fanatics but are obsessed with being "green".
-People being in open relationships
-People past the age of 30 still studying some bullsh1t degree
-People doing drugs in public
-Jack Wolfskin attire.
-Women sporting short, spiked hair that is coloured purple or green
-German "food"

Here are a couple from me:
-poop shelf toilets
-public urinals with no doors
-people who think it is a good thing old people collect Pfandflaschen
-Performative utterances of "oh my, so much packaging"
-The whole German "Nothing can shock me" ethos (really dude? a woman getting ploughed on a playground while kids watch doesn't make you feel ANYTHING?)
-Constant comparisons to the US
-Unrelenting trust in the government (LMAO past 100 years in Germany)
-German customer "service"
-All the whinos and druggies in public
-The exhibitionist nude sunbathers in public parks
-Basically every relevant political party in Berlin pushing for unisex bathrooms in school
-50% effective tax rate on my earnings
-Average real estate prices aequivalent to 25 years of a median net salary
-Overcrowded everything (precovid but returning to normal)
-Homeopathy and tea prescriptions
-Cold, dry bread for dinner
-Apothekenpreise
-Uniformity

Let me add one more:
-Extreme leftwing populism like the darn Wohnungsenteignung Referendum. Habe krauts really learned nothing about what happens when the government has supreme power? No wonder the concept of Gewaltmonopol comes from this shithole. I wish the US had let Russia keep this pisshole as a colony.

When you confront a German by calling them on their stinky poop (I went on a rampage slurring all my frustration. One of those moments of despair and last button pressed) and watch them get dizzy and unable to cope with it… is in fact, an unapologetic source of getting your power back from under their reign of terror.
NO RAGRETS.
In a normal context, you‘d feel bad to lash out at someone, I find, but with Germans is liberating, not hint of feeling that… It’s empowering. They expect people to obey, by default and once you don‘t their whole axis shifts…
