I basically have to keep a linkedin profile, which I almost never use. But every time I do log into it, the number one top post I see is always either the picture of Merkel shopping with some kind of cheesy message that says "this is angela merkel, she goes shopping near her 20 m2 apartment everyday without security and is buying three bottles of wine in the pic, so relatable right? it's wine oclock somewhere ahahahah" or a pic that says "this is merkel, she been chancellor for 16 years. no change is actually GOOD for democracy blah blah blah". Never once have I ever seen anything comparable to any other politician on linkedin and almost 80% of my contacts aren't even German. Worst part is that it's usually an Indian who posted the original pic and a bunch of Germans underneath saying "Sank u Herr Deejeersang for posting zis beautiful picture of Fwau Doktor Merkul, vee Chermans is very prout of heeeaaah". This surely isn't real life.

That is kind of true. I have also noticed in German media it is getting more acceptable to question the safety of the vaccine. Honestly there have been so many contradictions throughout this whole thing that nothing would surprise me anymore.

A while back almost moved in with a german as a roommate. We looked at an apartment that was like 80m2 that was pretty darn cheap, so of course there were a ton of people viewing it. Layout was kinda dumb but whatever, for Berlin standards it was pretty much golden.
Only problem was the kitchen walls hadn't been painted in a while so there were grease stains near the stovetop. My retarded potential flatmate tried freaking haggling with the rental company for 3 months free rent just to spend like 20 EUR to paint a freaking 40x40cm square. Needless to say they didn't even reply.
I have noticed this quality among a lot of krauts. They don't realize what completely shitfucked their lives are because they are completely out of tune with reality.

I love the lockdowns because I don't have to see anyone. the most ignorant and plain STUPID dog owners I've ever seen! it seems that the rule is - the less a Berliner knows about how to communicate and live with a dog, the bigger dog they get! and then the poor dog becomes unstable so they just let them run off leash and assault other dogs and humans because they couldn't be bothered to put a pulling frustrated dog on a leash. freaking insane. I see dog fights in parks every single day and those idiots still think that their dogs 'need that for socialisation'. oh get a grip and read a freaking book! the internet is full of great reliable resources on positive training and behavioral studies, other than other Florians on fb groups arranging 'playdates' for their poor mentally unstable dogs. not to mention the poop on the streets! I've lived in cities considered 'dirty' but never have I lived constantly looking at my feet while walking not to step in one!! plus also i just dont understand why half of these turds left on the streets are BRIGHT ORANGE or sometimes RED?! guys what do you feed these freaking dogs? this is NOT how poop should look like!

This is a global issue and it's happening in every liveable city in the world.
I buy an apartment every year since I save around €80-100k a year. I then rent it out to youths who are more than happy to pay a premium to live near their friends and drink overpriced coffee.
There are many of us who are doing this since interest rates are rock bottom and our savings need to work. The worrying part is now banks are starting to get involved in the buying action so first time buyers do not stand a chance.
