How do people actually consider themselves artists when they have to wear certain outfits to get into clubs.... everyone in Berlin is a cliche

Germany makes no sense. They give out visas like they are free candy to unqualified people, let in one million refugees LOL and then complain about foreigners ?

They need to have unqualified foreigners in here so that Germans continue thinking they are the best and are willing to work for low wages and high tax.

It is super sad but I happen to realize that I don't wear my favourite outfits any more when in Berlin. You start like "oh better no heels when quickly changing subways" or "no fancy dress when hanging around the park it could get dirty" and slowly it goes "no fancy dress to that party I don't want to stick out" and "nothing else but sneakers because of all the poop on the pavements". There is so many clothes I only wear on vacation or when seeing friends in France or Spain. Sad sad sad I was never aware

It's not so much about the dirt. Its from the pressure to be casual otherwise german women slam into you in the road, because they are jealous and hateful. either that or getting followed by drug dealers.

you pretty much just need to look broke at all times (read: lower yourself to make others comfortable) or get stares or harassment.

  Anonymous wrote:

You get the stares and are harassed one way or the other might as well wear whatever you want.

but in a way this "pressure to be casual" is also a lack of pressure to constantly buy new clothes and be materialistic. As soon as you get out of this bubble you are shocked by how superficial a lot of places are. And how much people judge your worth as a person by how much money you have. No money = less than human which is disgusting imo

True but you can look decent in a vintage dress too. In Berlin as a woman you are not allowed to look good anyhow

Idk, I would say berliners spend money on nothing simply because they don’t have it. It’s not about an ideal as they would like. And when they do have the money. Their style is frumpy.

I'm glad that there is no pressure to wear high heels here, because they are so bad for your feet and joints. The pressure in other countries for women to live their lives in heels seems insane now. I came here with heeled shoes and one by one had to get rid of them and in hindsight it's good. But there is a real conformist pressure to dress in one certain way. I seriously feel more pressure here than anywhere else I've lived. Berliners tell me they are so free and I just laugh, like holy poop buddy I do not want to see the other places if THIS counts as free and non-judgmental. tldr flat shoes are awesome but I wish I could wear more color and creative clothes and not get frowned at

If you are thinking of moving to Berlin because it’s “European” and “how different could it be?” Dont. I made the same mistake. Germans are weirder than any other European country. The culture is more similar to ... I don’t know what.... it’s Germany. Even the rest of Europe has issues

I used to think Berlin was cool, till I realized most of the people who live there either can’t hack it anywhere else or come from third world countries (Germany is easier to get a visa)....

4 of 4 people agree with this
  Anonymous wrote:

If you’re coming from the third world also most can afford Berlin or a poorer European country seems that Berlin has “money”, but if you come from developed country you will see a big cut. This is why you see Indians on Quora going on about how their career was made in Germany or people from Russia or whatever ....
I would like to see those same people try to get a visa for USA or UK

Not saying third world is bad or anything but the issue being is most of the people who rave about Berlin didn’t exactly have a great life before Berlin. Berlin for them is a step up, whereas for others it is a BIG step down.

I suppose saying third world is bad would be like how the first cavemen to create a wheel would be appear to people who actually made a cart out of the wheel. Just about every third world countries people are breaking their necks and the law to come to Christian-based first world countries. Be proud of being white and christian, just like Arabs are proud of being muslims and jews are proud of being jews. .

It's hard to be a foreigner, period. I'm happy for the people who come from India/elsewhere to Germany and feel like they got something good out of it. But yeah, if you need to leave your home country, maybe berlin is ok. But if you don't need to leave (no war, famine, poverty) then maybe, just visit and don't be hasty about relocating.

Things that I saw in Germany that I don't see here in Poland and thus surely don't miss:

-Middle-aged men sporting earrings
-Young leftist cucks wearing dreadlocks, colourful clothes and walking around the city barefoot
-Open relationships
-Sh1tty schlager music at parties
-Withered women sporting short spiked hair dyed in such a way that makes a parrot look conservative
-Swinger parties
-Racist people
-People using anglicisms every three words
-Drugged up teens
-Patchwork families
-Antifa
-Yerba Mate

the barefoot thing was one reason I left berlin. its just gross. it shows how pompous these chermans are, thinking they are soooo woke walking around w no shoes. yes, you are so close to the earth, in berlin, where there is probably hypodermic needles broken glass poop puke you name it on your feet. I see even kids doing this with their parents. I shake my head at everything in that place.
