Wow. Just back from London where I felt great, happy and connected....not even 12 hours later I feel a bit down. And I do have friends here, a good job enviroment..... It's the atmosphere, something you can't put your Finger on but feel. The energy.... Berlin suck!!!! I always thought there is something wrong with me. But it's not. Maybe Berlin? Maybe Germany? Defenitly not worth throwing away my Life. Went to London with almost nothing. Within one week: Made friends, found job, place to stay.... There is a way out. Beeing opened, willing and honest may help. I will leave Berlin as soon as possible.

@OP You may have not entered the major depression phase yet, anyway, you have to take care of your brain as soon as possible! Forget contemplating the situation you are in and focus really on getting your serotonin level back on track - it is possible with SSRI, it takes a couple of weeks though, until than do sports every single day, that will help against depression as well. I don't think Germans will treat a dead body with respect and dignity. These people are not human, believe me. They lack even the most common cultural social norm - which happens to be take care of dead bodies of your community and give them a proper funeral. They'll just throw the body to the dumpstore.
A few pages back someone complained about how the police will post unedited pictures of dead bodies to be identified. I know in my home country that when an unidentified corpse is found they have a police artist sketch the portrait and would NEVER publish pictures of a dead body in newspapers or on television.

You are absolutely right. Being respectful with the dead requires actual human emotions which are sadly lacking in this country. The only emotion in this country is anger.
It's largely Berlin but also big cities in general. People who move to big cities are transient and have little desire to make true friends, so they just have acquaintances if even that. The locals already made their friends years ago and have no time in their lives for more and they just see you as a transient outsider who will likely move away anyway. Berlin has a lot of additional negatives that make it harder to justify putting up with that compared to other major European cities. Germans are also notoriously difficult to deal with socially. A survey recently found 2/3 of Germans surveyed felt lonely, around 17% severely so. It's just a problem through the country and culture. They also made a mistake being too lax on very poor immigrants who have their own racist, homophobic, religious fundamentalist beliefs and are living in a parallel society and hate others not like them. I feel bad for anyone who is Jewish living there right now. I hate the far right but this is such an obvious issue that those denying it are just going to turn people off since they know they are full of sh1t. A lot of these poor immigrants and MENA people as a whole have a lot in common with far right people in how much they hate others not like them as well as their extreme sexism, homophobia, and anti-semitism!
