Its so difficult to transfer a mobile number to a different network. When I arrived I just got a Vodafone pay as you go and now wanted to switch to another network. In the UK I would have just gotten the PAC and switch within minutes. Here, you need to register your card using your passport, pay €25 and go through a difficult procedure. WTF

Things are so so much harder there in Germany.....unfortunately. Its no less than a joke. Are you also from the UK like myself. I left Berlin and back in the UK .....things are brighter now in many many ways....starting to feel like a empathetic, gaining my higher emotional intelligence back and actually feeling joy. I used to think the UK was crap and like many of us we will put the country down from time to time....especially when moving to a new country...saying things like "its better here" but Im thankful for one thing.....living in Berlin and Germany overall has restored my faith for the most part and dare I say it pride in my country. I cannot get over how polite people actually are compared to Berliners and Germans in general.....Im quite happy to be back. Pls note I speak very good German and went beyond the call of duty to fit in.....but there was always something not quite right there.....especially in Berlin but overall the problems existed in most places in Germany. Namely suspicion of foreigners etc - and its dosnt matter even if you are white like I am....I just came across pure ignorance in most not all cases.....but most!!!

That is only one of the fraud system experience you did which the companys in this failed state do with their people with the help of their government.
Remember VW diesel gate?
Guess what... In America VW had to pay billions. In Germany they still didn't pay the people. They came up with the idea to pay all people who got fuckedd up to pay 1000_2000 euro. That's germany. You can do whatever You what thoae people and they don't go on the street to protest like french or Spanish or Italian people.
Funny for a society that is so aggressive and fuckedd up beeing so darn passive aggressive.

Yes they are! I thought getting a SIM card was unnecessarily complicated, and that was just the beginning. I felt tired and frustrated most days, in part due to the fact that everything seems harder here.

Left Berlin and Germany 6 months ago and will never return. Many people here posting don't seem to be doing anything about it. Just LEAVE. You can find a job elsewhere, I would avoid Czech Republic and Prague as they are turning into overpriced dumps but you can escape if you really want. Whatever you do, do NOT pay a deposit in Germany, that's what will trap you with those soulless, racist, idiotic people and they are stupid too! Germany's best days are long gone. Get out and see that there is more to life than being Constantly annoyed by morons.

Let me guess. I am single, female, alone on tour and get insulted by any kind of people of every nationality - for no reason. I guess the reason is that I am not 20something . But maybe one doesn't even need a reason.

Especially SBahn and BVG CONTROLLERs are plain rude, no difference between the Ausländers and Germans. They treat you like dirt. But I Guess it's nothing personal.

Anyhow I still haven't figured out how to grow a thick skin and I am ashamed of so many people who act like that.

But I am thankful for those who I can have fun with, make jokes and have a good time. Very rarely people can be sweet, funny and gorgeous.

It is easy to be "anti-social" in Berlin because they don't let you inside their social system when you are alone, eventhough if you are not so much different.

People should build more bridges and smile more.

They shouldn't insult others and just try to keep calm.

They should try not to be so archaic, there will be a chain reaction and others will get crazy too

An authentic Berliner. www.youtube.com/watch Notice how he says "That's my opinion" because of the lack of an agreement of what he truly believes. Later he jokes saying he gonna burn his seasonal ticket. You can him smiling friendly only for a splitsecond. The other doesn't laugh with him. He replies therefore accordingly "That's how simple it is" and then another. You see Berliners originally are very authentic bold people with heart which doesn't contradict anything here.

It made him angry, he didn't meta. I always said light and anger is from the same source. He was joking in a good way, but it naturally not a light joke anymore. Light or angry, the topic always has something true behind it. It's no terms, just an observation of what is.

I thought the same for a while, but it's not really true for me. If you believe normal things like that free speech trumps personal feelings, that people can be responsible and accountable for themselves, that children shouldn't be raised in naked play groups, that publicly smoking crack should be punished, that public urination should incur a fine, that unlimited government handouts create weak people, that the violent squatters at Rigaer should be locked away, that AFD shouldn't have to cancel their Parteitag 3 times because of threats of violence toward the chosen venues, that everyone who opposes mass immigration isn't a nazi and so on and so forth then you are called conservative bordering fascist here. I am just as liberal as I have ever been, just that the people here are ideologists that have been poisoned by radical leftism. Germany's going to negotiate itself right into another war with the kind of leftwing demagogues that live here.

Thanks for these comments! I was kind of shocked to see myself turning more and more conservative while living in Berlin for 2 years. I'm from the south of Germany, which is often frowned upon from people on Berlin for being more conservative, but the longer I lived in Berlin I started to realise that so many things just work much better back home. I think one of the main reasons for Berlin being so dysfunctional is the extreme left wing ideology of many people. I'm still considering myself a liberal, but I can't stand the ideology of people in Berlin, which is often as backward as people with a very right wing stance (which I despise even more)

Germany decides to recruit nurses from countrys like Mexico or Kosovo and so on ...

Interviewer: and does it work recruiting nurses from other countries?
Politician: not the way we want.
Why?:
Pol: because they all go back even if they earn more than they ever did.
Reporter: what could be the reason?
Polit: well...we have found out that we do not care of this people as much as we should. And they can not work like nurses here. They only do the beds. We don't accept their qualifications in Germany.
Reporter: so...why do you bring them to Germany then. People in their countrys need them as well and they can work as real nurses there and don't need to do beds.
Politc: well...yeah ...
Politic:.....and one reason could be that they can not bring their children to Germany?
Reporter: say what? The women come to Germany without their familys?
Politic: ahm...yeah ..only the nurses...so no children...
Reporter: and you wonder why people go back?
Politic: we only need nurses...
